Great product. Produced awesome sap/syrup. Wish there were 3 buckets/taps vs. 2!

The kit is great. The item are a great way to start tapping trees. The included book is great for kids. The don't like the plastic taps though. I was afraid of breaking the tap when hammering it into the tree. One tap fell out of the tree a few times when the wind was strong. I like the metal taps better.

It works fine and is easy to use. Not sure how the buckets will hold up over time as we used them for a very short time this year.

This is an excellent product to introduce our granddaughter to maple tree tapping and syrup making.

Worked well

I just received my kids maple tree tapping kit, reviewed the contents, read the book cover to cover and I must say I was very pleased. First, let me say that my husband and I have tapped trees with our older children years back after attending a naturalist program at a local state park. It was a little trial and error and we made a few mistakes along the way. This kit would have been invaluable the first time around, providing all the information we would have needed. It also eliminates the work of piecing together your own supplies by providing the appropriate materials. (As the other reviewed said, you do need your own drill to make the tree hole.)I think my favorite part of the kit is the book. My children did enjoy the experience when we tapped trees years ago, but would have gained much more knowledge had this book been available. First, the book explains the what, where and why of sap production in trees, then walks you through the entire process from picking out the right tree to pouring the finished syrup over a stack of pancakes with fun facts along the way. Then the back of the book has simple experiments that are easily done and provide a perfect example of the science involved in maple syrup making including; transpiration, evaporation, filtration, the effects of different boiling points on the syrup and finally a recipe to make your own whole wheat pancakes to enjoy your maple syrup on! This is all accomplished in a clear, concise and kid-friendly manner. Love it!!I wholeheartedly recommend this kit and hope you invest in the opportunity to spend time with your children outdoors in the spring learning about the amazing process of maple syrup making from tree to table!
