Awesome!!!!
I'll just start by saying that I'm not a paper puncher but am steel ringer....That said there was a perceivable increase accuracy and repeatability, install was simple and fairly straight forward despite the horribly printed instructions, which shouldn't be an issue if you have the internet...which you do otherwise you wouldn't be reading this...or even half a brain as there is not much too it.install tools required is a tape measure and a 1/8” drill bit (cobalt or carbide), everything else is included, head over to the perfect union forum and do a bit of reading if you have any questions.over all very happy with this product and has made a big improvement in the function and overall appearance of my rifle, i would recommend this product to anyone with a mini-14.

In a 5 shot group the first round or maybe the second are pretty consistent but after that the rounds are all over ...
I found that the strut made little difference. In a 5 shot group the first round or maybe the second are pretty consistent but after that the rounds are all over the place.I was really disappointed, I expected better results.

finish is way of my rifle.
it really does not match well with the stainless finish of my mini 14. its like a grayish color , not stainless like adverised. installs fine but dont like the machining of the parts , expected the clamps to be more robust not liked stamped metal.

Accu-strut
Package arrived on time and in good condition. Instructions were blurred and hard to read but you can quickly go to their website and clearly read full instructions and additional tips. BTW - Excellent website. One part of instructions that should probably be in bold print at the very top - do not use the included locktite on screws or you will need to heat them for removal. The included locktite is to help combat vibration by adhering the clamps to the Accu-strut and gun barrel. Use the locktite on the inner faces of the clamps where they contact the Accu-strut and gun barrel upon installation.Installation was a breeze. Mock install the Accu-strut but keep the allen key bolts out of the clamp that attaches to the gas block (if you inadvertently leave them in, you can remove them once the Accu-strut is mock installed). When everything is positioned where it should be, use a pencil to mark through those holes onto the gas block where you'll need to drill dimples for these allen head bolts (this drilling is optional, but considering the vibration and warpage this Accu-strut is intended fight, it would seem anything you can do to add strength would be highly recommended). FYI - I have a stainless Mini-14, so pencil worked good. For a blued gun, you might need something else. The instructions warn that you'll need or should use some special drill bit. Rubbish. Any remotely sharp bit should work fine. I dimpled my gas block on both sides in just 30 seconds of drilling each side. After dimpling, make sure allen bolts go into dimples properly. Once you are satisfied that the mock installation represents a good final installation, take it apart and apply the locktite to the inner side of the rounded clamp surfaces where they will contact the Accu-strut and gun barrel (it is not quick drying, so no need to rush things) and reassemble. With respect to finish and coloration issues, I found my Accu-strut to be just fine. It matched the gun's stainless finish to my satisfaction. Total installation time using all above descriptions was less than an hour. If you don't drill, then there is no need to mock install first, and you can probably do the entire installation in 15 minutes. But again, from my perspective, drilling will help the ability of the Accu-strut to do its job.

The Accu-Strut does what it says for a 188 series
My 188 series mini shot 3" inch groups at 50 yards before I added this Accu-Strut. It shoots 1 inch groups at 50 yards now with the Accu-Strut. Also holds a tight pattern for 10 rounds. Heating of the barrel is still a problem with extended fire but much less than before. Looks good and matches the stainless of the barrel almost exactly The clamps are slightly lighter in color with the cross drilled strut being an exact match for the barrel. I followed the instructions about drilling dimples in the gas block .050 deep and used the supplied loctite on the barrel clamps. That thing is solidly part of the rifle now. Would have to take it off to remove the gas block though. Lucky for me, I recently cleaned all that and my over-gassed mini is unlikely to need another detailed cleaning in my lifetime. I would definitely recommend this strut to anyone with a 188 series mini like mine that wants to tighten up the grouping. The added benefit being the looks of it. Weight is not an issue. I haven't found a noticeable difference in handling of the rifle with the strut attached. Now my mini shoots the way it should; as accurate as I can with iron sights. It is a truck gun/ ranch rifle/ plinker/ home defense firearm with enough accuracy (thanks to Accu-Strut) to reach out to 100 yards and hit a squirrel sized target everytime. This was an excellent addition to my rifle.
