A Must-Have for Breast Pump Maintenance
I purchased the Medela Spare Valves and Membranes as replacements for my Medela breast pump, and they’ve been a lifesaver. These are authentic Medela parts, so the fit and quality are perfect. They’re compatible with all Medela pumps except the Sonata and Freestyle, which I needed for my pump. The performance has been excellent. After replacing the valves and membranes, I noticed an immediate improvement in suction. It’s a small upgrade that greatly improves efficiency and comfort. I love that they are made without BPA—safety and quality are a priority for me as a mom.Having extra sets on hand is also super convenient. It makes cleaning and switching between pumping sessions much easier. I highly recommend these to anyone using a Medela pump—keeping your pump in top condition is worth it!

Good brand, durable equipment.
I work full time, and so pumping for the next year will be a ways of life for me. As time-consumingly painful as this may be, it's pretty important for the health of my baby and for me. So, I will do it, but I look for ways to be as efficient as possible as I don't have a lot of time to do this at work, and the faster I get done at work, the sooner I get home to my little ones and not needing to pump! The Medela pumps are the best, I think, and I've tried several pumps. I purchased extra parts because I really don't have time to wash them in between uses during a given day, and they need to be cleaned, so I just buy extras and do them all in the dishwasher each night in a dishwasher bottle washer basket. They fit in the same openings as the bottle nipples, usually, and you can orient them the same way.I've seen in the past people discussing getting a tear in the white diaphragm on these, but after 1 1/2 years of pumping with this style of pump, have never experienced that, so I think they are very durable. I've never had one break. The medela brand works great, and I appreciate the ability it gives to get pumping done quickly so my day moves faster. I'd recommend these to anyone, with the caveat that these do NOT work in the Medela Freestyle pump and that I actually wouldn't recommend that pump unless it's absolutely necessary to be able to walk around while pumping as the hands-free bustier can be used with any pump and frees up your hands, and I find the Freestyle is much less powerful.

Great extra parts
Hospital gave us a starter pack and I lost a couple pieces so I bought this as extra parts. Works great with the rest of the pump parts.

How a mother could only use the two that came with the machine is besides me
Unless you have a full time helper to wash everything after each pumping session, it's ridiculous to think that a mother could get by with only the initial two valves and membranes. First of all, they are a pain in the butt to clean. You get tired of taking off the silicone membrane each time, but then think about the trapped oils and possible build-up between the valve and plastic and drive yourself crazy taking them off to brush and wipe them separately. Then after you pull them off (even carefully) and put them on again about a hundred times, you realize there is a break in the membrane and have to buy a new set anyways. Not to mention the time you have one slip out of your fingers while all soaped up and see its go down the garbage disposal drain. The pump manufacturer should really give you 3 sets minimum. Good luck dads and partners and maybe even some grandparents. I feel you.

Perfect
I’m an exclusive hand pumper. The madela valves need to be replaced every so often and these fit the pump perfectly! Great to keep on hand for when I need a replacement.
