Face with a Heart: Mastering Authentic Beauty Makeup Kindle Edition

I loved this book. Was looking for a good book about makeup technique that focuses on balancing the face and proportions. This was perfect! Reads okay on kindle too

I'm not sure I can adequately convey how helpful this book is. I read it over the weekend and today, for the first time in my life, I felt completely confident that I had correctly applied my makeup. And 12 hours after I'd applied it, it was still in place and looking perfect. I've read many other books and watched lots of tutorials (about 30 years' worth), but nothing makes as much sense or is as easy to understand as Face with a Heart. Certainly for me, no other guide has netted such immediate and obvious improvement in my proficiency. The system Chris Scott has devised is entirely unique, utterly logical, supremely effective, and has forever changed the way I do my makeup, and the way I feel about the result.

This was a fairly good book--I'm not a makeup artist, just a layman. As a "mature" woman, I can't carry off gobs of makeup or extreme styles (heavy layers of makeup and glittery looks accentuate wrinkles--older women have to go easy to look their best!) It's really best for younger women. But I did find useful information and I like the approach.

The best makeup application book ever!!! Everything is explained, and if you do the techniques used you really do notice a difference and get a professional look, although some techniques required some practice for me I see such a huge difference and feel comfortable doing anyone up. This book is worth every penny and then some! Although I have hundreds of great makeup artistry book, and feel like many of them have taught me a lot , I feel this book has made the biggest impact on makeup I do for others, it is the book I am choosing to teach my granddaughter from. If you are serious about doing makeup for others professionally, this is a must for your book library, you will REALLY understand the lines of the eyes and the face, which like I said can truly make an amazing difference.

Great book! I've been using the techniques in this book for a few months now. I'm surprised every day with the compliments I receive --I.e., my skin looks brighter, I look much younger, even that I look beautiful. I'm only sorry I didn't understand before how to put my efforts to better use. It's much more satisfying to put on makeup now. Also, I don't look like I'm wearing too much makeup. I have a casual, natural look. Great book. I especially like the specific techniques, the overall principles to them, the best brushes to buy and what step are ok to skip if I'm short on time. BTW, I've purchased some products from the author's website and they're better priced than I've found elsewhere and the quality is great.

I ordered this book last week, I received my copy Friday, I am so Impressed with this book. I have read and attended a makeup training program, (80 hours). I learned a lot about color and technique, but when I started reading this book, WOW, at least for me so much of the other information I learned all of a sudden started to make sense, I had the basic knowledge of HOW, but when I started to read and understand to ask and see the WHY. Thank you Chris Scott for sharing such a valuable secret in the "Face with a Heart"

This is the first makeup book I have read that describes the how and why of basic makeup application. The instructions are easy to follow and the ebook provides links to YouTube videos that show the technique being applied. Great book for anyone who wears makeup.

This an awesome makeup book. The techniques are sound and easy to follow. I must have 50-100 makeup books and this is my favorite-yes, even better than Kevin Aucoin! (Kevin's book are lush, but not too much insider info.) There are little tips and tricks I have never read in another book (how to properly apply color corrector, how to "Bambi" the eye for example) The only down side is that there are typos and spacing issues. Still worth it though.

For the price and with the glowing reviews on Amazon.com I'm pretty shocked at how little is in this book. One whould think there is something revolutionary contained within whereas it's 'big reveal' is basic contouring explained in a needlessly convoluted manner. There is nothing in here that could not be Googled and some of the 'tips' (like rubbing lipstick into the lips to make the pigment go under the skin) are a bit weird. I gave it two stars instead of one because you might learn something about basic application if you knew absolutely nothing beforehand.

The best book of makeup! It explain all about how to put and why.... That's the important think the author says. Before I bought. This book I read and preview others and this is the one I was looking for, because it talk about the art of makeup, most like the perfect number, the natural symmetry (not literally, but kidda). Is simple perfect.

I loved this manual and found it easy for a non makeup artist to follow. I adore using make up at my 64 years young and this book has given me some great techniques for a beautiful natural make up application. You are never too old to look beautiful wearing makeup.

This has lots of good tips and will keep me reading for a while, I'm glad I purchased this book.

Very usefull, good images, nice explaination, great youtube tutorials. It made me realize what I was doing wrong on my technique.
