No beuno
All was well price, presentation, untill I open the bag didn't even have to try it before I knew the high inferior beans they must have spelt it wrong. Laced with shiney sticky substance, definitely a 5 in strength not bad for the money but not what it says on the tin

Burnt!
Disgusting. When I opened the bag the smell was not appetising. The beans were clearly over roasted. When I tasted it I was not wrong.Drinking this coffee was like drinking the ground up burnt bits of an evil soul mixed with acorns!Bitter, burnt, nasty!

Not what I was expecting, gives a real caffeine hit
I was disappointed with this as I have had Blue Mountain before and considered it amongst the best coffee blends, but this one just doesn't hit the mark. The flavour is OK, but not as smooth as I wanted but you get a real strong hit of caffeine which is unlike any other blend of Blue Mountain that I have tasted.I use a Pavoni Lever machine and Macap grinder which probably have some bearing on flavour, but we also tried this in my wife's Bialetti Moka Pot with similar results

What's not to like.
Makes a beautiful, deep-flavoured coffee. Great coffee beans for a great price.

It's not Blue Mountain from Jamaica
Idly scrolling through Amazon I ordered this without checking properly. It's not Jamaican Blue Mountain, so I think it's being deliberately misleading in the name.In terms of the coffee, it's over roasted. You can tell the moment you open the packet from the aroma, which smells slightly burned. The beans have a slightly oily texture too, which is another sure sign that they've been in the roaster for a little bit too long. The flavour actually isn't too bad. Once you get past the burned notes it has a little bit of caramel but nothing particularly complex.
