Not Solid Enough
I had the whirring issue with my a/c compressor but did not know it was a common issue at the time. I thought I would replace my oe tensioner to solve the problem and that's why I bought the dorman belt tensioner thinking that it would be the solution to the whirring problem. Two days after I had installed the tensioner I noticed the whirring issue had not gone away, but I still kept using my a/c. While driving at highway speed about two miles from home. I heard this sound of something hitting the bottom of my suburban at the time I was not sure what it was. I just thought maybe it was a rock. A few minutes later the a/c stopped blowing cold air. When I got home I check to see if everything was okay. I looked at the a/c compressor and everything was there minus the tensioner pulley. Apparently the vibrations were too much for the arm and pulley. When the pulley came apart it almost burst my trans cooler lines. So, I decided to go with the goodyear tensioner. a/c still works albeit with the whirring noise but it seems to be more sturdier than the dorman unit. By the way I am also using the gator back belt

Poor quality control
It fell apart before I could install it. I had to drill and tap the casting to bolt it together.
