RAURENI ROSE PETALS PRESERVE 350g

Authentic, just like home made that I had in Turkey. (this product was made in Romania)

The texture is unpleasant. The petals are very tough and rubbery, with a bitter after-taste. The first rose petal jam I ever had was purchased at the Portland, OR Rose Garden gift shop, and the texture was delicate. I had a nice, though somewhat too faint rose petal syrup from Forbes last winter. I thought I was paying for too much water, though, so I wanted to try a preserve again, and I don't know if PDX Rose Garden sells it online. I will not buy the Raureni brand again.

Overpriced

this is not good at all .. syrupy and gloopy with a lousy taste

Delicious with beautiful rose color and delicate flavor. This is the second time I bought it. Since this is not a cheap "everyday preserve", I use it only for major occasions or when I use it as topping for my baked goods, mainly for the dramatic color and special flavor of roses. The preserve does good job for the purpose, but it would be better if it is bit thicker with more visible chunk of rose petals.

As delicate as the roses are, this preserve has a good texture and wonderful flavor. I know from my childhood that there is a certain kind of roses that can be used to make preserve. I even had them in my grandparents garden. So, I know exactly what I was expecting from this one.

It's great that you can find products from Romania on Amazon.com I made thumbprint cookies with this rose-petal jam for New Years, and they were GONE before I even had a chance to try one!

I did not like it. The rose petals were tough and thick. Not as flavorous as other rose preserves.
