There are not many softball size display cubes out there, unlike baseball size cubes. This one would get 5 stars if there was any sort of fixture within the inner base of the cube to keep the ball stable. Baseball cubes all seem to have 3 prongs that hold the ball in place from rolling around. This does not and it does not encase the ball perfectly enough to keep the ball from rolling. So if you have a softball you wish to display, you have to be okay re-adjusting it if anyone picks it up or moves it, or being okay with it rolling around in the cube and being off center / askew.

This was the most reasonably priced softball display case I could find. However, it was extremely difficult to position the ball so the autograph I wanted to feature - it was signed by about two dozen people - was centered. I guess I'd envisioned a five-sided cube, with a sixth side that could be popped on the top as a lid. Instead, it comes with two three-sided pieces which lock together. Trying to figure out how to fit the two pieces together without un-centering the ball was worse than trying to solve Rubik's cube.On the plus side, the plastic (acrylic?) was clear and unmarred, and there were no burrs or rough cut edges. The ball is clearly visible through the case. It's not clear how stable the plastic is, or if there's off-gassing or other chemical interactions that could discolor the ball over time. It does not say it offers UV protection -- at the moment, there is another softball cube on Amazon that does, and that has had a price drop -- so it's worth doing a search.

For the price this is exactly what I was looking for. I would suggest if you are looking to preserve a very valuable softball go with a higher end case. My softball has been sitting out in the open for years and I just wanted to get something that gave some basic protection.The case simply slides together and holds itself together by its own weight. If dropped I can easily see this busting or popping open. My softball fits snugly inside, maybe the teeniest of movement but nothing that would allow the autograph to not become visible. It can be a trick to get in, however. You need to balance the softball in the position you want while sliding the case together. There is that last moment when the ball can roll out of position and cause you to start over again.It's not the best product for this purpose, but it's more than enough considering the cost.

I bought this softball holder display to honor one of my fallen friends who used to love watching baseball and playing in our adult softball league. For the next season our softball team got the game ball for a game we won for him, and the whole team signed it. Then we put it in this case and presented it to his family, who loves it. The case fit the ball perfectly, and wasn't too big or small. The bottom even had a little divot to keep the ball in place so it wouldn't roll around and stuff. It did take me a second to figure out how to open and close the case perfectly, but it's not that hard.

I bought a few of these and am completely happy. They fit a regulation 12 inch softball perfectly as long as the laces are not touching the sides (otherwise the ball will not fit). If you use a smaller (11 inch) kids softball, the ball will roll around in the case. See the picture as that is how the ball needs to be displayed. Once you understand how to open the case (slide the halves apart - do not pry or attempt to hinge them open!), it is pretty easy. Some list this as a problem but I see it as a good thing. Once the ball is sealed up, it stays sealed up.

I ordered this to hold a signed softball I had gotten for a family member. It works great, its priced well in the range I wanted to pay, goes together in literally just seconds and looks very nice. The family member has dropped this a few times and there have been no issues so I'm very happy with how strong it is. As well this showed up with no scratches or issue to the box. All in all, pretty great buy.
