Work well for crystal radio
I was hesitant to use these to make my first crystal radio (most old heads recommend other diodes) but these were so much more affordable and they work just fine. I am well pleased.

Lower Vf than germanium, but higher capacitance than germanium
These diodes will have a greater performance than germanium diodes in crystal radio sets. They also have a four times greater capacitance, though, and that could be a problem in some other specialized applications. I took off only one star because these are Schottky type, silicon, diodes -- not germanium diodes and I don't like misleading product descriptions. Should have said 1N34 equivalent, Schottky diodes, or similar, and not mentioned germanium. I measured 0.20 volts forward voltage at 1mA on the one I did measure and 6pf of capacitance. Very good.

Real Germanium Diodes
I only tested one, but that one had a 0.3V forward voltage drop, exactly as expected for a germanium diode.

Not a Germanium Diode
These are not germanium diodes. See screen shot below, curve in red is real germanium diode, curve in brown is one of these, this is actually a schottky diode.

Works in my Crystal Radio
Some people believe that many of the diodes sold as Germanium are actually Schottky diodes. I don't know how to tell the difference (the voltage drop is about the same for each). They work in my Crystal Radio, that is what is important to me.
