Worth the effort! Best Irish steel-cut oats. Period!
These Irish steel-cut oats are marvelous; their texture, taste, nutrition, consistency all make it so worth the 30+ minutes to cook them perfectly. Add some blueberries or blackberries & a dash of cinnamon, & your tummy will feel warmed & contented long past breakfast!

Best tasting brand
I searched through many brands of oats only to be disappointed, until I found this brand. I have never had an issue with my orders. Everything always comes in the same way every time (in perfect condition). The flavor and texture is exactly what I was looking for. The oats are rich and smooth. Even my kids enjoy eating oatmeal every morning if it’s this brand.

Cook for 1 Hour, Still Al Dente
For what it is, it's probably great because the flavor is nice--the texture is a matter of opinion apparently.Maybe you have to have grown up eating heavily textured (tough) oatmeal, or perhaps have fallen in love with it in Ireland, but it's hard to love something you either have to partially prep the night before or wait 60+ minutes to cook (at the recommended 40 minutes it is chewy and watery) for extra firm, granular sort of oatmeal. Steel cut is a nice compromise between this and rolled if you want some extra texture.

OATMEAL EXCELLENCE!
My mama and I found a different brand of steel cut oatmeal and bought it for many years. I continued buying it but when I found it, the price had gone up drastically. So, I looked for an alternative and, very recently, I found your product. What a difference! The flavor of your steel cut was much nuttier than the other brand in the black & bite tin. Amazing! Thank you so much for the delicious breakfasts!!!! I strongly recommend you give this a try. Add a bit of bro n sugar and cinnamon. Yummy!

Yummy!
This is my favorite oatmeal of all I've eaten. There is a problem with the packaging however which has been noted in other reviews. I've included a photo - I can tell you I've eaten the open boxes and survived so they've not been tampered with. The odd part is that I've pulled on the pull tab to open the container & it never seems to work so if the package is intact, I cut the sealer out with a knife. Also there was a study in 2018 I think which noted that carcinogenic weed killer was found in most oat product cereals including most organic oatmeals in the USA. I researched Flahaven's and the company states their product is not exposed to this weed killer so I believe it's safe to eat. I love the flavor and texture and rolled oats seem blah after eating these steel cut oats.

mccann flahavan bob oats compare
Mccann steel cut good texture, flavour. Preferred by daughter. Longest prep time, not for rushed mornings. 4:1 ratio, so good value. but after 30min, not that creamy yet. Unable ṭo compare with BRM steel cut, as it was finished a week ago.BRM scottish oats nice texture, flavour. Easy to prep, sits between steel cut n rolled oats. 3:1 ratioMccann rolled oats smooth texture, unusual but mild flavour compared to the others. Can't pinpoint the taste. 2:1, but can probably increase to 2.5:1Flahavan rolled oats very neutral n very mild flavour, can do with higher ratio of water to oats. Good for intro to oats. 2:1, but can probably increase to 2.5:1Did not taste against quakers. In conclusion, for rolled or scottish, prefer BRM Scottish for flavour, texture, same ease of prep, mildly cheaper. For steel cut, then the Mccann or ?BRM. Yr results may vary
