Makes iRobot look like 1980s Tech! This is an awesome robot!
I have been a loyal customer of high end iRobot products for 10 years and with this purchase, that has changed. I was currently using the pair of iRobot i7+ and iRobot Braava jet m6 on a cleaning schedule to keep the house clean for the past 2 years. Prior to these models I owned the 900 series vacuum robot. Now that you have some history, let me say I have NEVER been impressed with iRobot. With every new iRobot model they make claims of Intelligence, superior mapping and cutting edge learning capabilities.....well all BS!My iRobots got stuck all the time! Put bluntly, the i7+ is STUPID! Not only did it regularly get stuck under furniture it obviously didn't fit under, it also couldn't navigate simple throw rugs and would get stuck on those as well. Another favorite place to get stuck, under kitchen cabinet overhangs. This happened in multiple homes, so nothing special about the furniture or cabinets. Also, the claim they learn where they get and avoid, or note this on their maps is total BS. This stupid robot would get stuck in the exact same place over and over and over. So, as far as AI goes....it has NONE! It also gets lost and can't find its way home often even when nothing in the home has changed. It also loved to ram into everything full speed leaving dirt marks on all my furniture and base moldings. As I said, STUPID LOL.Now to the M6 mopper bashing. Equally as stupid, the mopper gets stuck on its own dock and throws an error, so instead of it mopping your floor after the vacuum has returned (if it returns) you find it stuck with a red ring. I found this was due to the wheel tread becoming worn (from tile?) and no longer having enough tread to get off the plastic parking pad. Also, this robot has the same navigation as the i7+, so just as stupid and also gets stuck on everything and lost. It also love to headbutt everything just like the i7+.Price for the iRobot pair was $1350 at time of purchase with a bundle deal. Not worth it at all!Lastly on the iRobot side, customer service is a Joke. They offer in app trouble shooting and customer service contact options, which I never got a single reply from them while having these issues. Even when trying to replace the worn tires on the M6, the part was out of stock every time I tried to purchase. iRobot might have been all the rave 10 years ago, but clearly they have gotten lazy and have not advanced with technology. They are now over priced junk. Do your self a favor and try Deebot! So finally to the Deebot....well, its fantastic! Mops and vacuums with one machine and truly is home automation. It cleans better then the iRobot hands down and is also half as loud doing it. It also NEVER hits objects. I only saw it touch a piece of furniture once and it was a love tap so soft I wasn't sure it even made contact. It cleans itself (Vacuum and Mopping brushes) and auto fills is own water tank (M6 does none of this). It also has dual mapping capability so measures by laser and camera. It mapped my entire house in a single pass and that took 20 minutes. You can also watch its travels via the live active map or through its camera. As a reference, the iRobot i7+ took 3 mapping runs of 6-10 hours each to map the house. My house is a single story, open floor plan and 80% tile. The ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 is a fantastic machine. I would give it 5 stars, but the separation of rooms function in the mobile app could use some work. The robot does what's its supposed to and is quiet, highly advanced and dependable, but the mapping options to set-up dividing of spaces and naming those spaces could use further development. iRobot does have a better app, but since the robots themselves are stupid as a newborn, it doesn't matter LOL. If the Deebot had better room separation, naming and customization features (as found in the iRobot app) this device would be an absolute all star!!So is it worth $1500??? Hell yes! Its a fantastic technological wonder. I love my Yiko! ...."I'm here" LOL

Interesting robot
This thing has had its funny moments from deciding to go hang out and sleep mode under my bed when its supposed to be cleaning the living room to going out of its way to beeline it over to the other side of the house and start running over some cables we had on the ground while we built a desk from the complete opposite end of the house it was supposed to be cleaning, It really is a toddler and has a mind of its own sometimes. Now besides it doing what it wants on its own sometimes it really is a good vacuum, does well picking up things off the floor and the floor washing isnt bad either though do note dont expect this thing to completely take over long term cleaning for you. The station does well at emptying the bin automatically and it will was the pads fairly well as long as you're not trying to have it clean up a large mess. The things I dont like on it however is its ability to maneuver around with the mop heads on it, it cannot get over the lip of carpets with them on unless your carpet is literally flush with the hard floor so I have to carry it around. Sometimes I have to yell "ok yiko" just to have the voice activation start to tell it to do something. (you can use the phone app to have it do things too or just push the button on the station to have it do a full house clean) As for keeping the robot clean even though the station can empty the bin and wash the mop pads it wont just clean the robot itself which can get dusty fast and cover sensors so I have to clean the robot every 3-4 uses to keep it optimal. Is this vacuum annoying sometimes? Yes, yes it very much is. Do I regret buying it? No, I dont think I do. The vacuum is fun to have around and it does keep my place cleaner and I do not mind spending 20 minutes every Sunday cleaning the unit, it is entertaining to watch it do its thing and provides me a laugh or 2 when it decides to just act like a toddler. Just make sure to maintain the unit and maybe just setup the station on the hardfloor if you dont want to be carrying it back to the station when its done mopping and unable to clear that 3/8" lift on the carpet. ( Do note when the mopping pads are off I had no issues with it going from hard flooring to carpet, that is when the advertised floor offset it can go over is true)

More intuitive and more features than previous model
So I bought this as an upgrade/supplement to my Ecovacs Deebot N8+ that I bought just over a year ago. For the most part I liked my N8+ but needed something a little bit more powerful and a little less human intervention. I picked this X1 Omni mainly because it can clean itself and I don't have to constantly swap out the mop pads like I'm currently doing with my N8+.First thing, this thing is HUGE. Best to have someone at home to receive the delivery because I'm not sure you want to leave such an expensive item out on your porch! Also best to have someone who can carry it inside the house as it's quite heavy. So that's the first thing too, make sure you have a location that's big enough to accommodate the base station, you need decent clearance all around the machine. It has a dramatically bigger footprint than my N8+, both the width and the height.Second, because of the large footprint, it means it also has a large water tank, actually two, one for clean water and one for dirty water. Again, the point of this upgrade is so I don't have to constantly add water and to change the mop pads so large water tanks definitely appreciated. This machine not only will clean your pads but there's also a feature to dry it (fancy!)Third, this machine is such a BIG improvement when it comes to mapping. It took me a few very frustrated tries to get my whole house mapped for the N8+. With this one, it was so easy that I questioned if I actually mapped my house or not. It's got a quick mapping feature and it seriously took a fraction of the time to just quickly map the house and to start cleaning. My old N8+ can only accommodate two maps whereas this one I can do three, this works better for me as I live in a multi-storey house.Fourth, it has a CAMERA! Like who would have thought you would need a camera on a vacuum? But it's one of those things you didn't know you needed and honestly, it was a surprised to have this feature and I honestly thought something like that would only be in an even more expensive machine. The most obvious use is to turn on the camera to see where the vacuum is cleaning, but there are also other uses that can be quite pratical. For example, if you have animals or if you want to do an emergency welfare check on a senior etc.Fifth, it's got a lot more detailed features/customizations over the N8+. This is expected due to the higher price tag. I do like the option to be able to deep clean and to focus on corners etc, but I was surprised how quickly it drains the battery when it is on deep cleaning mode. I suppose it makes sense because the higher power required, but I don't think depe cleaning is necessary for everyday use.Sixth, I wish the manual was a bit better with more information. I'm still trying to figure out how this mopping thing works in multi-storey house. For my N8+, once I map the house I don't need to move the base station to another floor. But so far I'm not sure how that works for the X1 Omni beacaue when I try to take it to another floor to mop, I'm not sure if I need to move the base (I sure hope not cause it's heavy). But it doesn't really tell you how often the robot should return to the docking station to refill water.Seventh, you can connect this to your smart home such as google home and use voice commands with it. Pretty good feature if you have family members who may not be tech savvy.Eighth, suction power is good and you. An choose different level depending on your need. As for mopping power that has yet to be seen as I have not been able to try it on stains or spills etc yet. However, I'm hopeful that it'll perform better than my N8+ because this one actually applies pressure and the mop pads rotate, one of the biggest feature I was looking for.Overall, I'm happy that I got this on sale and for all the feature that's definitely worth it. I'm happy with the quality of the machine and the features in the app. So far cleaning power met my expectations and it's a huge improvement from my N8+.

Omni Huge Base, Just add water. T1 Plus better IMO
This was my first Deebot Omni 1x and got it on a lightly used/damaged price which was a great deal. First the husband commented it looked like a garbage can, it was that big, really liked the Voice commands and the way the machine cleaned itself so you never really have to touch it only to take off the pads, if you want to vacuum. That was the downfall, you cannot mop and vacuum at the same time as it uses the same small reservoir for the dirt and then if you want to mop you have to let it go back to the base and empty and then put the pads on and send it out to mop. 2 downfalls, very large base and cannot mop and vacuum at the same time. Returned and again took over a month to get a refund. Ridiculous. First they wanted me to pay for postage on this monster to return to Indianapolous, US, ya that was not happening, so amazon sent me a prepaid label to mississauga. Still had to make several calls and wait a full 30 days after they recd it to obtain the expensive refund.I then ordered the T1 Plus, it is the perfect machine for me, I like that there is two compartments , one for dirt the other that you insert for the water, both large and hold a good amount. Voice command on this one and no glitches in the software, Mapping is great, labelling rooms and doing custom areas for cleaning is a breeze. If you send the robot out to mop and vacuum just remember to lift your mats. This machine I do have to take the pad off and scrub in the sink and then I lay on a vent to dry. Which is fine with me, as I have a few dogs and maybe its best to clean the pads manually rather than have it suck up in the machine as the Omni does. Ozmo vibrating mopping system I believe scrubs better than the rotating pads. Will keep the Deebot T1 Plus. , 3rd try Wins!

Almost Perfect! I've tried them all and this is awesome!
This things is a wonder of engineering. It's easy to maintain (but there is work to it) but it does a fantastic job cleaning up after our 7 dogs. Yes, 7 dogs. The Deebot X1 Omni is a full feature automated vac/mop robot.Pros:- It has a powerful suction; I've found that on normal settings its vacuum works well and is quiet.- Mopping is the best I've seen on a robot - It is similar to a Bissel Spin Mop with clean water being put onto two rotating mops. It leaves a beautiful finish on the floor. I use the maximum water flow, and a visible trail of washed floor can be seen as the robot progresses. I have it set to return to clean the pads every 20 minutes. This is a setting the can be increased/decreased. While this does do a great mop, it doesn't replace a weekly clean with the Crosswave as a wet vacuum/mop. The Crosswave has been the best solution I've found for cleaning a floor.- Navigation is Fantastic! I've had Samsung, iRobots, Shark AI, Shark IQ robots and this navigation is fantastic. It does a great job avoiding walls, corners, and obstacles and so far seems to avoid the robot marks that most leave on the baseboards.- APP is really easy and well thought out - The app allows for full customization of everything your robot will do. It took some trial and error to determine the right coverage level, clean once or twice, the right power on the suction, the right mop cleaning interval, etc. This isn't a frustrating process, but it does help you get to better understand the capability of this machine. The app also allows you set up the camera so you can see what the camera sees. This can act as a remote video so you can run around and check things. It's cool, maybe a bit gimmicky, and to some may raise serious concerns of privacy. It's not something you have to turn on, so the choice is yours. It also has voice control, and again a bit gimmicky and not something I use, but some may find that very helpful.- Design is excellent - The docking station is HUGE compared to others, but it looks great, the robot looks great, the water containers are easily accessible.CONS:- Dust bag; After using the Shark bagless bins, having the ability to just empty a bin is much more desirable than using bags. Although Ecovacs says the dustbag should last up to 60 days, in my house I end up using another vac to suck that one out as I'd fill a dustbag every 1-2 weeks. That adds up quickly.- Costs: This is not an inexpensive machine. It performs at a premium level but it does come at a premium cost. I did purchase it on Prime Days for $1299.00 - Not sure I'd spend $2K on this, but it's worth $1300.Bottom line, this is an overall outstanding machine. I'd have one on each floor if they were less money but now that I know how good they are, I'll see what sales come about and look to change out my other ones. You get what you pay for and you get a lot for your investment here.
