My son was taking small paper bags with the handles (from restaurants) to work because he refused to pack an insulated lunch bag. I bought this bag for him since it looks like a paper bag and he loves it. The wax helps keep it rolled down as needed and I’m guessing it insulates too.One thing to know: do not leave it in a hot car on your car seat. The wax will melt and leave a stain.

Not waterproof. On my first day using the bag, I placed it inside of another tote bag and walked my normal 10 minutes to work. Even though it didn't get very wet, it looks like it crossed the Pacific Ocean because the drizzle that morning immediately stained the bag and made it very stiff - the little bit of rain water also ruined the shape.. I tried to leave the bag out to dry for a couple of days but it still looks the same from the day it got wet. Very rough feeling, not smooth at all. It's too bad, I wanted to love this bag.

I really enjoy this lunchbox. Probably more than a grown man should. I wanted something to carry my lunch bag and forth that wasn't a plastic grocery bag. I have a refrigerator to store my lunch in at the office, so insulation wasn't a huge issue to me. This actually does have some insulating property but not a ton. I love the nostalgic feel that reminds me of brown paper bags as school as a child. This thing is considerably larger than the old standard brown bag but not so much so that its overkill. You can git most small containers in here and pack enough for a long day. The waxed canvas texture has a nice feel, holds its shape more than I expected, and the top of the bag rolls up into a nice sturdy handle. I would buy this again and again.

Unfortunately, there wasn't much better on the (Amazon) market but this could use a few improvements. I actually chose it just for the little pocket on the front. It does the job, it looks cool and it's very spacious as I bring a lot of different things for lunch. For example, it fit 6 water bottles standing up. However, it doesn't stand up all that well on its own since I put a container full of hot food in it that softened the bottom. I just wish that some sort of plastic could be included to waterproof the inside and help it stay up as my watermelon smoothie soaked through it and fell on my car seat. A clasp would be nice which would help it stay closed if I need it, maybe even a handle. The inside could be lined with material meant to insulate and keep the temperature inside from affecting the wax etc. Overall happy with my purchase, but the bar is set super low for this price range.

Just what I was looking for! I needed a new lunch tote but didn’t want anything fancy. This bag should last for many years. I love it!

I hadn't owned a canvas lunch bag before this, so I can't compare it to anything. What I can say is the material feels very sturdy and the bag has plenty of room. I like to bring enough to work for a week's worth of salads, and this bag fits that with room to spare. You can roll it to be small enough to fit in a packed refrigerator as well. It seems to retain temperature better than I expected for not being insulated. I love it!

I was looking for a no-frills, not "boxy" type of lunch bag and this works great for me. It's large enough to store everything I need, and I dig the "brown bag" aesthetic-- on which I've already received several compliments. All-in-all, I'm happy with this purchase so far.
