NOCO Snap-Top HM318BKS Battery Box, Group 24-31 12V Outdoor Waterproof Battery Box for Marine, Automotive, RV, Boat, Camper and Travel Trailer Batteries

Used this box for a quick build of a backup battery using 280 amp hour (3360 watt hour) prismatic lithium iron cells. It is just barely tall enough (for the terminals and a fuse), but has enough room left at the end to fit the BMS (using Overkill Solar BMS). It has multiple uses including carrying in RV if needed to run A/C without running generator and running things like sump pump or other critical items during a power outage (avoiding setting up generator for short outages). Use a 1200 watt Giandel PSW inverter to run the 120 VAC stuff. It weighs about 50 lbs with the lithium cells, and it plenty sturdy for that, but if it had a lead acid battery that filled that box, it would weight much much more. Very happy with this battery box - not expensive and works great.

No cheapie stuff on this one. I ordered it to make it easier to carry a 65-pound deep-cycle battery for camping purposes. (Kind of dangerous to transport batteries loose in the camping gear in the back of your truck) Top locks in place solidly. Handles would hold up a 100-pound battery if you wanted, no problem. Comes with a very solid strap you can run through the handles for easier carrying, but I used it instead to tie across the middle of the box because the side handles work fine. When I get to the campsite, I just pull back the lid a bit and tap into the battery with my 750-watt inverter. Power all week, as they say. If you are looking for one heck of a solid battery box, you came to the right place.

I built a portable battery backup system for my Ham radio(s). Inside this box I placed a lithium ion battery which only took up a small section and was secured by both the divider (Supplied) and Velcro (Lowes). In the lid I placed the wiring and terminal strips which supplied power to the power pole mounted through box connector, voltage meter, USB connectors and more. The quality of the box was great, it is vented if needed, it has the shape needed to allow installation of gauges, through box connectors, and if desired, running cables from the inside of the box to the outside through the over hanging entry ports they designed it. I preferred mounting port connectors. It has a strap to secure around the box to give extra help in keeping the cover on. etc. By the way, that unused space.... I use to store my coax cable, extra fuses, and more. Clean and dry. I had a special use for this box, if your using for a 12vdc lead acid filled battery for your boat, trailer etc. I'm sure it will work as advertised.

I used this box for a solar wiring cabinet and have a charge controller, temp controller and a med sized lithium battery inside. It's for use in an electric fence installation and works great keep all the devices together, however I found out the hard way that it is NOT waterproof. There are 2 open vent ports on the top of the lid which funnel the water from the top down into the box. I filled up about a half inch of water in the box the first time it rained. Luckily the electronics weren't damaged. I have drilled drain holes in the bottom and sealed up the vent holes in the lid. It's a nice sturdy box, but will need to be modified to make it weather proof for use outdoors.

Just received two battery boxes and now will have to determine if my batteries will fit. Description from Amazon reads “fits battery sizes 24-31”, box it came in reads the same way but the lid of the battery box reads “fits 24-30”. Until I get my batteries to test the “fitness” of these boxes I will give it a 1 star for this review. Has anyone else had this same experience with these boxes? Update 7/2/2020: batteries do fit in box, able to use the spacer to snug battery so no slide inside. When heat drops to workable conditions will install boxes and re-rate. I don’t see any problems on install, venting batteries will need some screws and duck tap 😎. Update 7/10/2020: have installed both batteries in their cases, wired and powered up. Some helpful advise, when installing the cases make sure you leave enough space between battery cases because the covers need a little extra room to close down and not interfere with the other lid. Plus, make sure to position your battery case covers to the direction your cables will go in addition to parallel batteries. Also, unless you have ample room, screwing down the straps in a confined space (like an RV) might prove a bit challenging. I have venting hoses so I used duck tape to attach to vent in box instead of screws, besides, nobody sees it anyway.

Its hard to beat the price point especially with the extras. Things to know about the 24-31 size box in Dec 2023 that I had a hard time figuring out exactly in the description (look at my photos). 1. It does have a divider and some grooved slats, but the divider is not solid. It should help keep a size 24 battery from sliding around. I might put a small battery maintainer in the empty space. 2. It comes with a strap, but its not obvious not to tighten it down (my pictures might help). It also comes with two mounting clamps that you screw into the side of your boat/whatever that I'm assuming you pass the strap through to the the entire thing secure. This is still a nice bonus because the didn't have to include it. 3. It has top vents. Probably because Hydrogen is light and will fill the top of any space so thats why almost all battery cases have top vents. It has small plastic vent covers with a spacer that will probably break off over time leave open vent slats. But still nice try to reduce water entering. Still a great deal for what you get.

Bought this for a compact lithium battery and added quick connects for hookup convenience and power gages to monitor the battery usage. There is also room to store the charger along with the battery. Works great for me.

I use this to protect my expensive LiFePo4 (Lithium-Iron-Phosphate) battery that I move around a lot for my Amateur Radio operations. Important to me is that this box has a moveable separator for multiple sized batteries. Since my LiFePo4 battery is not a standard size as a traditional battery, it helps to keep the battery in place. With that said, it is also possible to install a second smaller battery on the other side of the battery (like a SLA or gel-cell [i.e. NOT a battery that can leak fluid/acid], that way you can use it for charging cell phones, accessories, etc. without taking power away from the main user like my radio!

Arrived a day before delivery estimate. My marine leisure battery fits in this perfectly, as if it was made for it. It has accommodating gaps in the lid to allow for the cables to come out.

I bought this for our small aluminium boat to use with an electric trolling motor. The embossed lettering on the case stated that it could accommodate up to a size 30 battery; it's incorrect as it takes my size 31. The passage ports for the cables are amply sized and I've wired in a bilge pump as well. Everything fits as it should. The only downside is that one of the two top cap vent covers was missing from the box. To keep out the rain, I've sealed it with Gorilla tape, as I remove the battery for charging elsewhere, i.e., not in the case. It's a good product and made in the USA, not China.

大分、ケーブルの取り回し空間が開いていますが、むき出しよりかなり安心感が違います。ベルトも付いて固定には、問題が有りません。ボイジャーバッテリーの大きめのサイズも問題無く収容出来ます。
