Good product
Does the job! Although it didn’t fix my problem… The collar is for 2 different size pipe ends!

Works great, easy install.
Had a basement up flush toilet that had a gurgle when being flushed, installed this little baby in about 15 minutes and bingo, no more problem.

AAV Stack Vent Pipe Substitute
Superb quality but it was too tall for my space. Had to return it. An AAV is a regulation-approved (check your state code) for a stack pipe. Installed something just a bit shorter.

Product works as intended
Works great, as intended. When the remodel was done on my bathroom, the drains from the toilet, sink, and shower were not vented properly. Every time the toilet was flushed, the P trap at the shower was sucked dry due to a vacuum, that allowed sewer gas to fill the room. Adding this vent at the sink (mid-point between the toilet and shower) fixed the problem entirely.

You must be just what I needed...
The plumbers who installed the original Studor vent also used pipe glue on the valve when they screwed it in. SIGH. Fortunately, when I purchased this as a replacement, the included hardware was exactly what I needed. If you need a valve like this, you know what it is. FUNCTION: Before installing it, I put it over my mouth and looked upward (it's meant to operate vertically). It would not allow air to flow outward, but would allow air inward exactly as desired. The flap inside seems to be higher quality than the original Studor I replaced. INSTALLATION: Very simple. Because of my unique previous install issue with the glue, I cut the existing pipe as close to the top as possible -- cutting off the previous screw-in ring. This included adapter has two levels of inlet rings: 1-1/2 and 2", depending on which pipe you have. They're two separate tapers on the same adapter. I've seen reviews where people seem confused that the smaller ring inside is actually what they need on the same pipe. I hand-tightened the vent and then glued the adapter back to the top if my (now bare) pipe. All of the old symptoms of a failing value went away. Inspecting the old valve (I wasn't about to put my mouth on it), I could tell that it wasn't completely closing anymore. Some dirt or residue was inside it and lightly just blocked the path. 7 year life span on the old one and now a 5-minute replacement next time due to the lack of glue on the threads hah.
