Great Water Softener - Easy to install - Great Customer Service
I installed this water softener last week. It is working great, cranking out consistent soft water. I had a couple questions that were sent via their chat option and quickly answered. I ordered in the morning prior to their cutoff time and it was shipped same day. The only very slight negative was the UPS damaging the media tank box, but the tank was packaged well. There was no damage to the tank. Everything was included as described. I already had food grade silicone on hand to lubricate the O rings in the piping yoke, so the only additional item I needed to purchase, as noted, was the brine drain line. That was under $10 at Home Depot, including a couple clamps. Installation will vary based on your situation, but all the parts of the softener fit up easily. I had an existing installation so I plumbed into my existing lines. Love it. Would definitely buy another. The Fleck control head is a high quality unit. I have another that operates an iron filter that has worked flawlessly for the past 8 years, so I definitely wanted to replace my current outdated softener with a Fleck-based unit.

Great unit but you need few extras pieces to get it hooked up. And Unit isn’t preprogrammed
Great price for the unit. I replaced an old BWS analog dial system softener that matched thus unit closely so was easy install swap over. DONT assume the digital part comes pre programmed because it doesn’t. Thier are videos out there that are easy to watch and understand. You just need to know hardness of your water coming into house. For me I went to Pool Store with prefiltered water sample they used their Great kit to give me spot on hardness of my water. Default is 20 on unit example my water is 10. So Also know size of unit you bought. As you need to know for programming. Only thing I can say bad about this kit as Thier is no hose supplied to user for the Drain to waste on the Fleck unit so when it does a backwash. And also no hose supplied for the over flow in brine tank. Beyond that it comes with everything else.

Works pretty good and not too difficult to install
After a month of service, I’m happy with the results. However, I’m tasting a minute amount residual salt in the water. The older GE unit did not have this issue, but I can live with it. Yes, I verified my discharge piping was free-flowing and manually force a regeneration to verify regeneration operation.

Buy this if you have hard water!
Amazing product! We moved in to an (almost) brand new home and the previous seller had a Pelican unit installed. It was a dual "conditioner" and whole house filter. There were white lime scale stains all over our dishwasher, sink fixtures, sink, even a gross film on our granite countertops. We installed this unit with the help of my Father and Father in law, in about 3 hours (they are very thorough.) We have Pex plumbing and I believe they used shark bite fittings. We called 602ABCwater to figure out how to program the unit and that took about 20 minutes but only because it was not connected correctly. Now the softener has been giving us amazing water for showers, my hair and skin feel 10x better and I do not have to worry about our appliances getting damaged from hard water buildup. I read tons of reviews before purchasing and am so happy I did. This unit is fantastic for the price and we are extremely happy with it. I have already recommended it to several of our neighbors who are looking for a great softener.

Top Notch Product
I live in Northern Indiana and have incredibly hard water. Hard water spots happen instantly and build up happens almost as quickly. I've always used softeners from the big box stores, but never really was satisfied with performance. I finally bit the bullet and purchased this unit with the Fleck head and it absolutely exceeds my expectations. Install was super simple, albeit my house was already plumbed for a softener. Our water has never been better. I would buy another one in a heartbeat. We're going on 7 months with this and I could not be happier. Thanks for an awesome unit A-Plus Water!

The Fleck 5600 SXT is prefect for our needs!
I installed it myself, I am a DIY person but you can have installed by a pluming co. In my opinion it was a fairly easy step by step installation, the written instructions was good and there is you tube (internet) also to simplify it, specially for the step by step programming. The reason I decided to purchase this particular model, was for the metered on-demand function this had drawn my interest, this allows you to set your grain setting and when it reaches it to start the water softening process, it will start on the next programed day and time set by you. This means the operation will save you water, salt and will go on the same day/time that you programed it, although it is very quiet when running. I have communal well water usage, so a good water softener is top priority, I purchased the test kit and test my water weekly before the Fleck Water softener starts up it's cycle and has kept it drinkable and toxic free. I have waited for about three months of operating this water softener before giving a review, to make sure that it operates as advertised, so far I am very pleased with it's operation and functionality.

do your homework
first of all the whole metered usage is a Joke. The program instructs you to set the DO {day overide} for 7 days if you are on a well and 14 if you are on city. What that means is for me every 7 days it will regen regardless of how many gallons are left to use. So you can save money by getting the one you set for a given day. Second i have played with the numbers many times to get this POS to actually let me use the amount of water is says i have left but it just isn't working, the water always get hard when i have 600 plus gallons left according to the controller. all i can figure is that maybe it was shipped with sand in it and not resin. certainly not the quality i expected from a Fleck component. It was the SXT5600 48000 grn. Yes iam slow just passed the year mark but hey now i speak from experience, very disappointed for 800 bucks.
