tangerine cream wow what a dream
i've used the chocolate version of mike's recovery drink mix, and i can vouch for it's effectiveness in preventing soreness post workout so this one must work too in that respect. the chocolate flavor was also great with milk, however mixed with water tasted different and a bit off.that being said, i was really blown away by this mix's flavor. personally, i would pick this flavor over chocolate if i was to only be able to choose one. the flavor hits you with a subtle tangerine kick to it. it's not incredibly strong, but you CAN taste it. the creaminess compliments the tangerine surprisingly well, and finally (when mixed with water) you're left with a delectable foam that's like the icing on the cake.i've read other review that say "you can only taste cream", but i'm here to say that is definitely not true. perhaps mike tweaked the flavor a bit after those reviews, because i can definitely taste tangerine in this one. i recommend mixing this with water, as it doesn't have that awkward taste like chocolate mix and water. haven't tried it with milk yet.overall, I can't really find anything wrong with the product, so it gets 5 stars.

Great recovery drink mix
I've had all three flavors (vanilla, chocolate, and tangerine cream). My ranking is chocolate, tangerine cream, and vanilla. The vanilla was quite bland (which is a good thing in my opinion with recovery drinks), the tangerine was more cream flavored than citrus (wouldn't mind if they bumped up the tangerine flavor a bit more), and the chocolate was a good, medium strength, smooth cocoa flavor. Despite all the necessary sugars in this it's not too sweet. I prefer it with a cup of milk and a cup of water. My go to recovery drink for awhile now. I never feel sore the next day when using this mix.

Reasonable price, great product
There are a lot of overpriced products in this space, with a lot of specious claims about the perfect recovery drink. Mike's Mix is pretty simple: some easily digested carbs, in good ratio with protein, that you mix with water to rehydrate. For tougher or longer workouts I'll mix in some orange-flavored sports drink powder (more calories, plus electrolytes to recoup what you lost in sweat). If you're not planning on doing a second workout on the same day, the benefits of a recovery drink like this are minimal, but if you are... it helps a lot.I'm often just as happy with the classic recovery drink of chocolate milk - it's a lot cheaper per serving - but this doesn't require refrigeration so I can pack this in my gym bag if I'm not starting or ending at home. If you're lactose intolerant, depending on your sensitivity, this may also be a good option (or it may not be; you can contact them directly for a sample to try out).

Smells like spoiled milk, tastes like parmesan cheese
Dear Mike - what have I done wrong for you to unleash this product on me? I work hard, never miss a Monday, and try and keep my form on point. So when the work is done, and I drink my Mike's Mix recovery beverage, I expect deliciousness. And up until recently, as I had been enjoying the chocolate version of your recovery drink, it was exactly what I got.But when it was out of stock recently, and I needed to replenish my supply, I decided to try the Tangerine Cream. Which I learned was a terrible idea.I love your products, and do tell all my friends about them as I know advertising is expensive (as you've made mention of on your container) but I do need a favor from you. I beg of you, for the love of anything and everything you hold dear, please, please, PLEASE reformulate this product. It is my hope that it's currently out of stock here on Amazon because that's what you're doing. When I first mixed it up, I thought maybe it was bad. It smelled like spoiled milk. But since I used water to mix the powder in, I thought to myself it had to be something in the product. So I took a sip. And that's when the taste of Parmesan cheese hit me. I really thought I was losing my mind. So I asked my Wife to try it.After she did, she didn't speak to me for 2 days.So Mike, as a dedicated acolyte of your products for the past how ever many years, I once again beseech you to reformulate this product, or remove it from your lineup altogether.Normally I would give a product like this 1 star but since I do love your products, and what you're trying to do, I bumped it up to 2. But to anyone who is reading this, make no mistake, this is a bad flavor.Do yourself a favor and go for the chocolate instead. You'll be glad you did, and it may save your marriage.

Terrible flavor and aftertaste.
I was hoping for a beachbody results and recovery formula replacement. What I got was a terribly tasting mess. The carbs:protein ratio is good, however the flavor is just horrendous. I don’t eat a lot of sugar so when I do, I want to make it count. This product doesn’t do that. For the amount of sugar in the product, I expected a much better taste. And the other gut punch is the lack of nutrients. No vitamins. Maybe I set my expectations high. I could overlook the lack of vitamins if it actually tasted good.

Great Alternative to P90X
I don't normally write reviews, but I had to on this one. Im on my 2nd Round of P90X after quite a long time off from doing it (about 6 months). I bought Mike's mix to try it out as I just couldn't afford the higher price of the original P90x recovery drink. I am now on my 2nd week of round 2 and don't think I could've done it without Mike Mix. It has a good taste and does what it is supposed to.I recommend only putting in only 1 cup of water with about 5 icecubes with 2 scoops of mix and putting it into a blender. It tastes just like an orange creamsicle and really is like a Pavlovian reward for working out that day. I have noticed my soreness is not as bad and it is just as effective as the P90x Mix. I recommend it to anyone who needs a less expensive alternative that tastes great and does the job.
