Working perfectly on my TiVo
A great device as a smart TiVo remote control on my cell phone. Set up is not the same as what the manual says so that took me a while to figure out. The Smart Life app is complicated. The instruction can be improved.

Functional but limited customization.
It works well, for what it does! The devices it’s comparable with are fairly limited, but you can program any IR remote. Super convenient to be able to control devices from your phone, but only the devices linked directly in the app are compatible with Alexa, not the remotes you teach it. You also can’t name your stored remotes. They will all be “Other”, but you can have a subtitle, in smaller text underneath, that you can customize. The control Alexa has is limited, as well. You can tell Alexa to turn your TV on or off, but not to change the channel, control volume, etc., but you still have full function from your phone. One really nice thing is, it has an extremely wide angle. If you set it up in a central location, you should be able to control most of your devices. I have mine mounted to the wall, and it still works great.

Works great!!.....Need a 2.4GHZ network only.
I use this to control a video projector that is in my attic being used to display a Holiday Window and replaced an IR repeater that was not so reliable and had to physically turn it on/off (first world problem). The included remote schemes didn't include my projector, but the button learn feature worked for me after a few tries. The ability to include with Alexa is great. When purchasing it, I wasn't sure if it would work well with my projector since you have to press the power button twice in a row to get it to turn off. Luckily, the Scene feature of the Smart Life app allowed me to create a button press sequence with time delays between them. This allowed me to not only control the time it comes on/turns off but to press the power button twice to turn it off. Now my projector works in concert with the rest of my Christmas lights to all come on at sunset and off at the specified time.I can confirm what others had commented about needing to have a separate 2.4GHZ wifi network connection and not a combined 2.4GHZ/5GHZ (combined with the same SSID/Network name). I had an extra wifi router lying around and was able to complete the setup. You may be able to accomplish this by setting up a guest network that only utilizes the 2.4GHZ band if your router allows for that configuration (I did not test to see if that was possible on my existing router).

Not working with Alexa
Main reason for buying was to have a simple mechanism of controlling one device through Alexa. Setup was easy, despite lack of instructions, and this does work with my smartphone, albeit a rudimentary interface. However, I could not get Alexa to discover the device after multiple times trying, whether linking the Smart Life app or the Tuya app. It simply does not discover the device, which means I have no voice control. I wrote to customer service and explained my issue several times and they were frankly not helpful; they kept telling me to check all the things that I had been successful with and did not specifically address my issue.I bought this because the overall Amazon reviews were good. In hindsight I should have checked the reviews on the Smart Life app through Alexa, because there it seems many people are having the same trouble as me. So overall, for my purpose, this only gets 1 star; if I was not wanting Alexa integration, then would have been higher. It also bothers me that Amazon allows such the manufacturer to claim integration with an Amazon product when that is clearly highly variable, and certainly not consistent.

App Could Use Some Work, the Emitter is Good However
This is not a bad emitter. It works fairly well, and did a good job as a backup/alternate IR emitter to control my air conditioner while I was away on a week long trip.I configured it using the Smartlife app. It wasn't in the device list, but I was able to program it using the remote from my air conditioner. The app isn't the best, and is a little rough around the edges, but it gets the job done. One thing I wasn't able to find was a library of user submitted device profiles. You can program an unsupported device using the remote, which is what I did for my air conditioner, but I've lost the remote for my fan. Fortunately, I also bought another IR emitter which does have a library of user submitted profiles, and was able to find one that worked with my fan.I ended up using it quite a bit to control my conditioner, in conjunction with my other IR emitter. It worked very well, and never became unavailable, or needed to be rebooted. The Alexa integration works. I can now command my TV with Alexa.

Alexa, release the kraken!
Good gift idea for people who like technology. I already use the Smart Life app, I wanted this because it's fairly cheap, universal, easily controls multiple devices, and I had a dream (keep reading). Few things to note, my TV brand is a main brand but oddly not listed in the thousand plus list of manufacturers. A big perk of this is that it can record and playback IR commands so it can control any IR device, but having lost the remote for my TV that wasn't a choice. Instead I looked up a random (brand of remote doesn't matter) but extensive manual for universal TV remotes, found the numeric codes that are listed for my TV brand 015 and then found a brand using the same number codes for the remote. Smart Life thinks I have some random 'MGR' brand TV...but it works fine even though my brand wasn't listed. But controlling my TV isn't why I purchased this, I have a Roomba clone that has an IR remote. Because this device is Smart Life compatible, it also works with IFTTT, Alexa, etc. As such, I am able to setup Alexa to respond to "Alexa, release the Kraken!" which then has the IR blaster activate the roomba and then start playing flight of the valkyries throughout the house.
