Amazing game from lionhead
First of all I am a huge fable fan, so this review may be a tad bit biased :DOverall Gameplay 9/10The gameplay was almost perfect, I take a point off because it was a bit too easy. I went through the game without dying once. The combat was easy to control, the enviroments were fantastic and well designed. But to be honest it really just felt like fable 2 with some extra stuff thrown in.Story 8/10The story was fantastic and really pulled at some of my emotions, but only when I was playing as a good character. There really is no room for an evil character in this game. Which I was kind of upset at. Even though I enjoy playing as a good character more. It really just seemed to lean towards a good story. My evil character can slaughter entire villages without remorse but if a single person in a cutscene gets killed he cried and felt so bad. That however is the only flaw in the story. There is excellent character development for the supporting cast, and seems to be more well written than the past fable games. I love how this one was actually a continuation from the previous game. If you play through the story play through as a good character first so you can experience the story how it was meant to be played! You will thank me later.Exploration and size of world 9/10The exploration was fun, but there wasn't really a need to explore, unless you wanted to see the hilarious demon doors, and find all the hidden things! And there is just so much to find! Like hidden legendary weapons golden and silver keys, and those oh so funny demon doors. There is even a cameo from the most famous demon door from fable 2! I laughed for about an hour while listening to it's story. Having the exploration being optional is kind of nice, some games like oblivion are massive and it's hard to find things which exploration is mandatory in order to do anything, but I like those too. But when you have people living with you that don't like to explore much they or just like to experience the story this is a perfect system.Music, I dunno what to rate it... I didn't hear much... but what music I did hear was pretty good, but sounded like it was ported straight from fable 2.Controls 10/10The controls are just fantastic, they streamlined everything and did away with text based menu's! It's now all game control menu's and probably the best thing to happen to any game in quite some time! The combat controls are just fantastic and so easy yet very fun.I know it's kind of jumbled and I may have repeated things... but... yeah... that's... it... thanks for reading, I hope it helps you make a decision.

Great game.
Great game. It worked just fine of course. Wish they'd make another game in this series.

One of my all time favorites
I picked up Fable 3 all those years ago shortly after it released and spent hundreds of hours playing it on my 360. It was my first Fable game. The RPG elements, the combat, the story, the humor, and the beautiful and engaging world really charmed me. I can't tell you how glad I am that you can play it on the Series X as it's backwards compatible. It looks SO good! The colors and detail are pushed to their limits and look absolutely incredible. It also plays much more smoothly now too. It really makes you appreciate both the Series X for being able to beautifully upscale graphics, and the game itself as you can really see all the work and effort put into Fable 3. I was genuinely surprised at how bad people thought of this game at launch. I don't see as much hate for it nowadays but I can sort of see their reasoning. The ending especially was a little... lackluster.. but the journey leading up to it was one of the most fun experiences I ever had in a game. I definitely recommend playing it before Fable 4 to get a feel of the series.

Waiting for gold...
My wife bought this game for me as a Christmas gift. I've played through the main quest once already and started a new character. Playing through it again has been even more enjoyable the second time around because I've figured out how to make money a little better. Replayability is great thus far. Making different choices in the game opens up different paths to explore. It can be a real time suck, still worth it in my opinion. Learning the new "leveling" system is easy. I was a little disappointed at first, but I got over it quickly. It allows for just as much customization, It's just presented in a different way.Pros:Easy to jump in and play.Combat allows for more strategy than is initially apparent.Just as fun as previous iterations of Fable. No disappointing final "battle" (I'm looking at you Fable II)Your stats are compared during loading screens to your friends on Xbox Live (this has pushed me to try to beat my friends chicken kicks, etc.)The story is much more dynamic than I expected. The commercials hardly gave it credit. (Still no Hollywood production, but a decent story)Cons:The main quest feels short, it's a little easy to just blast through, but you'll want to play it again.Playing a "bad" character really limits the experience compared to a "good" character. On my original Xbox 360 Pro (Circa February 2006) the graphics will chug a little sometimes, it could be my box specifically, I'm not sure, but it's irritating as hell.I rather miss having a health bar. (You could argue that the display is much cleaner and leaner though.)It's a great game. If you're already a Fable fan it's a great entry and you'll find nods to previous games scattered throughout Albion. If you're not already a fan, but you like console RPGs then this is a good entry for your collection.
