NEOGEO Mini Console Red, White and Blue USA Version

The design is unique and an homage to all the SNK games released in arcades. Lots of fantastic games well worth the value in this mini console. I chose this version for the colors, red/white/blue just looks very appealing. Had an issue hooking this to a larger screen. If the screen supports a resolution beyond Full HD (1080p), this unit will not output a video signal. Since it only supports a max resolution of 720p, the screen must support that resolution or else it won't output a video signal.

------------------------------------------------ Hardware ------------------------------------------------ Body: What a cute little device. Screen is large enough to enjoy for hours. This is the USA version with Japan colors. Buttons: They are a little stiff but you get used to them, and I’m sure they loosen up as you break them in. Joystick: Works great. You probably heard about it by now, but it doesn’t have micro-switches. Is that a deal breaker? I don’t think so. Don’t listen to the YouTube idiots that skip over the great qualities of this system and only look at the negatives… Speakers: There are two of them and they get pretty loud. They do sound a bit tinny, but they are good enough to enjoy the games. ------------------------------------------------ Emulation ------------------------------------------------ Emulation is great as you can expect. There are slow downs in Metal Slug, but that’s normal and is part of the original itself. The only problem is connecting this to a TV through mini HDMI… It looks soften compared to Retropie (even after turning on the image quality optimization setting). It’s definitely still playable, but it’s not “pixel-perfect”. Fortunately, I will be playing on the device screen so it’s really not a concern to me. ------------------------------------------------ Games ------------------------------------------------ The games are great. Never once did I think I was ripped off. Don’t listen to idiot YouTuber's that completely trash this product when it’s pretty great. Emulation through HDMI may not be perfect but it’s still playable. Definitely recommended!

Was disappointed to find that the system would not turn on when connected to power with the power button enabled. Perhaps a problem with just my unit, or with the overall product line. Amazon wouldn't process my exchange, perhaps because the items were unavailable. Hope others have had better luck than I with this product.

Great console, but I thought it comes with controllers but don't. Only comes with the USB C cable, no hdmi neither controls

Okay, so the TV out isn't the best and the buttons aren't clicky. That being said, this unit does have a built in audio and video unlike most other mini consoles. Although the button placement is wrong, this version does have the multi-color buttons as well. The selection games isn't perfect, but it's on par with similar Nntendo and Sega offerings.

This is an unofficial release by Game Monkey who is using the Japanese version shell with the International version software. Only buy the Neo Geo Mini systems that are by SNK and not by Game Monkey.

Has a very nice selection of games, not just the beat em ups and shooters that they are known for. Just know that it requires a power source at all times, there is no battery inside.

Good novelty item, the emulated games runs okay with occasional lag, and the controller stick is a tad bit too small to seriously play anything portable.
