Still Walking....
So I've used this game/ds cartridge/activity meter/whatever you want to call it for a few days now. I really love it. I purchased this to enhance my DSi experience, not because I expected to lose weight. I love all these gadgets that make our life better while we fool around on the DS. I didn't expect some high tech pedometer--just a fun little thing to play with for a while.I walk around barefoot all the time. I work at home. I never wear shoes, unless I absolutely have to. The activity meter registered my steps just fine. It also registered my steps when I ran as well. Overall, it worked well despite the warnings.Miis - For the first activity meter, I imported my mii from the wii. I wish there was more interaction back and forth, because my mii on the wii is getting a little porky due to my wii fit activity! However, my mii on the ds is getting a bit healthier looking. Super easy to connect. For the second activity meter, I created a mii, which was also pretty easy and fun. Being the first DS game to use mii's, I was quite impressed. Like I said, I wish they were more connected to the wii.Dog- I am waiting for my third activity meter to arrive so I can clip it to my dog. You can't really leave it on a dog while you aren't home, but it's an added little feature that makes the overall experience of Personal Training:Walking fun. Soon, one of pugs will be helping to illuminate the house and joining in on the space walk, with his own little mii to represent him!Mini-Games - These are like little goals. Keep the house lit and walk the world. Space Walk is a combined game with people from all over the world. While these may not be super fun for children, I enjoy plugging records in to see how far my household and I have progressed. I'm also trying to win some trophies before the other in my household do.View Worldwide Rankings - Using wi-fi, you can compare and compete with people from all over the world. Seriously, you can despite the other reviews saying you can't. This could be a huge motivator for some people. It's also just plain fun to see how you rank globally.Activity Meter - It's charts and graphs mostly, but you can rate your day and leave notes. This is helpful if you had a particularly lazy or eventful day. The DS has yet to call me fat, which my wii fit has several times when I don't weigh in every day. "Why have you gained 5 pounds, is it because you haven't exercised? huh, huh?" Okay, maybe it's not quite that bad, but you get my drift. I was called a koala on a particularly lazy day. It's really fun to go back and see when you were active. Oh that is when I walked to the car. That is when I walked the dog, etc...Compared to Pedometer - I busted out my old pedometer, which has the same inaccuracy warnings as the nintendo activity meter about being barefoot and running. I compared the results over the course of a day, and they were pretty close, about 60 steps apart. That is a normal day, with some running after dogs, walking, etc... Nintendo does not bill this as a pedometer and it really isn't...I would not buy one of these instead of a pedometer if you are trying to start a fitness routine. I use my nike+ for that. It allows for calibration and has all sorts of features. The nintendo activity meter is for fun! It just has a natural side benefit of promoting good health and exercise. (Of course, I didn't give up my yoga routine when I got the wii fit either, to each his own, i suppose.)Overall, I'm super happy with this game and the activity meter. EDIT: My partner just checked his first rhythm and was super excited, as he was able to see exactly when he did what by the activity chart. It was obvious when he walked the dog at 7 a.m., when he walked from his desk to the car around 8 p.m., etc... He is also way too excited that he reached his step goal before me today. He's not so excited that we only generate enough power for a flashlight. Perhaps, if we set our step goal higher, we'll be motivated to walk more and power something stronger.Overall, it's a ton of fun to see how your activity changes through the day. We'll be working on not being so lazy during the day perhaps...

Nice motivator
Received this pedometer just before Thanksgiving. I have been using it for over two months now. It is very interesting to see my daily activity. I really liked the ability to transfer a Mii from my Wii to this game to use as my character. I was disappointed to see that it only stores up to two days of activity. If you do not transfer the data out at least every other day, you will lose any data older than the current and previous day. Sometimes, I cannot get my data transferred for three or four days. I wear the pedometer on a belt on my ankle boots. I realize it results in false readings as the device will register every movement of my foot as a step - even if I simply put my foot on the ground to turn in my chair at my desk. But wearing it on my boot is far more convenient than my waist. I purchased a calorie counter that I plan to use in conjunction with this item to really track my daily activity. I have experience very few problems with the product and enjoy watching my daily activity. They could have added a neutral option to the daily stamps (only options are bad, good, and great). The daily mini challenges are also interesting - except, if you wait two days to download your data, you have ended your day before you know what your mini challenge for that day is. All in all, I am happy with the product for the price I paid.

Accuracy of the activity meter
I have only had the product for a couple of days now, but I thought I would share my findings from a test I did. I carried around my Omron pedometer in the same pocket with my activity meter all day. Note that the Omron is a fairly high end pedometer, and is calibrated to my stride for extreme accuracy. At the end of my day when I sync my activity meter with the game It read 13,404 steps, my Omron read 12,691 steps. A difference of 713 steps. I honestly thought the activity meter would have less steps with its needing 10 seconds of activity before registering, however this was obviously not the case. My day consisted of walking to and from work, normal walking in the office, and walking to and from a place for lunch. In my opinion this is a fairly small margin, more so than i was expecting with the cheaper activity meter. It is defiantly more accurate than the previous pedometer DS game. Hope this helps if you were curious of its accuracy.

Works Well
Have been using this a lot lately. After the new year, time for a little exercise. You keep the pedometer part in your pocket and then at the end of the day, you sync if to your DS game card by aligning it to the back of the DS and pressing a button on the pedometer. The data is transferred to the game and a little mascot tells you have many steps you have taken and how many times you were inactive throughout the day.It keeps track of my steps quite well. I don't notice any missing chunks when I review the days results. The calender that keeps track can get out of sync with the actual date if you don't check in every single day. If you have data sitting on your pedometer from Monday, but you don't transfer it until Tuesday morning, the steps will be right but the calender will add the data to the wrong date (well duh). So be aware of that.I would assume this would work with a 3DS, but I haven't tested it. Just been using it on my old DS Lite.

Fun fitness tracker. Also works with Nintendo 2DS and 3DS
This game / fitness tracker is great fun originally released for the Nintendo DS it also works in the 3DS and 2DS systems it utilizes the infrared port to transmit data from the two pedometers included to record your steps during the day the pedometers themselves are quite accurate as I have a Fitbit which I have tried them against. The game itself although simplistic adds an extra angle to keeping fit and you can add up to an extra two trackers to the one game cartridge making a total of 4 so that a family could use this with the one cartridge. It also suggests and has an option in the game for you to add it to a dog to check his or her steps overall great fun well worth the money

fun
I bought this as I lost my little gadget and needed a replacement.i take it out most days and get quite cheered when it reaches the target i set, though it doesnt always detect my activity. it doesnt know when you go uphill and have to walk harder but it does have some great sarcasm in the review. I was working online one day and must have taken a break, later that evening it came to a dead spot where i appeared to have done nothing at all, then suddenly a movement, the mii asked, "what happened, did someone call your name?" cheeky! Sets little targets for you to achieve, such as make sure you have regular meals today, think about your posture while you walk and walk as much as you can and others.....of course its up to you whether you do them or not, you can still get a smiley face 'sticker' on the date either way.I have tried this gadget on my bra strap, in my bra, in my socks and in my pocket and tied to my ankle, so lots of options.

A bit of fun
Item arrived two days before delivery date - bonus. Service good and description of product correct. I was originally looking for a pedometer but I came across this item and thought it would be a good start to monitoring my walking and a bit of fun too as you can compete with another person. I started using the activity meter straight away. I have one and my husband has the other so we compete with each other for the most steps. Shame it doesn't measure distance as well but it's still interesting to see what your movements are for the day. It even measures you when you are cycling, hence it is more about your 'activity' rather than just walking.

Dog is beating us
Bought this to measure how much we moved. Thought I'd be streets ahead of the other half, wrong! Very useful as it gives minute by minute breakdowns and compares you with others. It reckons it only counts the front paws for the dog, but she's wiping the floor with us both, though wagging her tail seems to knock her count up too. Nice to know how much we move in these lazy, office based or TV watching times but likely to become boring after a while. Will be fun while it lasts though and is making us more aware of just how lazy we've become.

Does exactly what it says on the tin!
I bought this so that I had an incentive to walk more. Especally on shorter journeys. It has worked perfectly! I am able to see the different rhythms that I have to my exercise on different days and I'm in competition with my husband to see who can do the most steps in one day. My only niggle is that the pedometer is not sensitive enough to react to small steps - I'm on my feet all day, wandering around a small space and the rhythm shows this as a period of inactivity. I'm definately not inactive in that time!Overall a great gadget.
