After bariatric surgery, my doctor stressed to me how important it was for me to take a Vitamin D-3 supplement, along with other vitamins. But after surgery, I was not able to swallow pills for several months. However, these were an exception. My doctor recommended these because they are so small, and so soft, that they would be ok for me to swallow, even when I was still on soft foods. My doctor also said that since they were liquid inside, they would be easy for my body to absorb.These are like small little pearls filled with liquid, squishy and soft. Super easy to take. Even if you are someone who has never been able to swallow pills, you shouldn't have any trouble with these -- pieces of your food that you swallow are larger than these!The only reason I deducted a star from my review is because they stick together. Often I would open the container and try to pour out a few, and a big clump of them would come out, all stuck together. It's very easy to separate them...it's not like they meld together or anything...but it's just kind of a pain when you go to separate them, and some of them go rolling around the counter and onto the floor. I tried to get into the habit of shaking the bottle to separate any that stuck together before opening the bottle, but if I forgot, there were often a few stuck together. However, other than that, I am super pleased with these and have no hesitations in recommending them. Even now that I am allowed to swallow big pills again, I am sticking with these just because they are so small and easy to take.
