Quietest circulator I've had
At the time I'm reviewing this, I see the product is no longer available. That's a real shame, because this is really one of the best.I cook sous vide on a weekly basis. I've had several circulators. One thing I've learned in having these things around is that silence is extremely important. I suppose it depends on the layout of your living space, but 1) I have an open floor plan, and 2) I work from home. Some circulators end up making kind of a white noise, but some are truly obnoxious, with high-pitched whistles and wails the whole time they're going. Even the most recent high-end brand one that I tried was quite unbearable. And it's not just that I have sensitive ears or something. When my wife came home when I was trying it, she commented on it unprompted. (And she truly doesn't have sensitive ears.)Big positive marks for the volume. That said, it is a "fussy" little device. Once you learn its specific processes and procedures, though, it does end up working very consistently. One thing I would change is the tolerance range for water depth. The minimum water level is less that 2.5" from the maximum water level. For long, high-temp cooks (like brisket), you need to keep your eye on the water in a way that other circulators don't demand. Also, I've had the thing slowly slide down the side of my water bath, and in so doing trigger it stopping for being "too deep." At least that's been early in a cook, so I've noticed it without any real problems. Still, the depth range issue does make me a little nervous about this one.But other than that, it's a fantastic circulator. I hope I can find another one like this for when I need to replace my current one.

OK bare bones sous vide...good value...but bogus 5.0 reviews...
Bought this to bring to our vacation house rather that packing our 2 year old Joule.Purchased based on low price and astounding 5.0 review. Sadly, after competing the order I realized that the positive reviews and questions were bogus, except for a couple 1 star reviews that complained about the responsiveness of control panel. Also found an identical item priced higher with a 57% 1 star rating with control panel issues. I feared the worst. Rather than return it because of bogus reviews and listings we decided to try it out.The heater is about 3x bigger than a Joule, but about 60% less expensive. Unlike the Joule that uses a phone or pad as the user interface, this is controlled by a 2x2 inch display. As explained in instructions the display keys require an initial 2 or 3 second hold before they react....will not react to a simple tap. Most of the displays of time and temp are very small, except for actual temp and the alarm sounds were faint. So the controls take some getting used to.But it worked on 2 different recipes. Checked temp with infrared thermometer and it was accurate.Bottom line: this is fine for someone who does not want to rely on web access to manage controls and does not care about getting on line recipe instructions. Can’t testify to durability after 1 day’s use.

Good Price
Temp control was spot on. Timer worked well. Difficult to see controls if clipped to cooking vessel as directed. First time use was a little difficult because of limited directions. All together a good product.

Excellent
Easy to use, holds temp well within a degree, set up is simple and works well. Great price for a great machine, and the food it makes is pretty good too:-)

Makes a flattering sound at the base .
Mine made a clattering sound right from the first use. Amazon did take it back. I’ll try a different brand.n Also, the led numbers are microscopic to read on the head.

Great device
So far so good. I’m only two Sous in, but it has worked flawlessly. The controls are intuitive and easy to use.
