Does this watch require a battery? Do I need to wind it Up?

It does not require a battery. You do not need to wind the watch, you simply wear the watch. The watch is “self-winding”, meaning the watch winds itself using a weight inside the watch that oscillates to put tension on the mainspring through the random motion of the watch wearer's arm. I have found with this watch that you must wear it for at least six hours per day and do not let it set for more than 24-36 hours or you will need to reset the watch. Automatic (self-winding) watches are meant to be a primary watch that is worn everyday without the concerns of having to wind the watch or replace the battery. You will need to wear it about six hours the first time you put it on and may need to reset the time again. After that you shouldn't have to worry about it again so long as you wear it. This watch will work perfectly if you wear it everyday.

The description says "analog-quartz movement." is this watch automatic or quartz?

It's an automatic mechanical movement. Runs at 21600 bps. Crappy description.
