Macmillan First Dictionary

Fantastic hardcover book. Great pictures !Well made and thought-out.Although no picture or entry of Dolphins in this book which are one of the most favored water creatures in the world and my daughter's as well. So when she opened the book for the first time to look for the Dolphins she was shocked (as I was) that it wasn't in there ! ☹Please put a Dolphin entry in the next printing for the children who have this reference book in the future so there will be no more 'frowning' !Thanking you in advance.

My daughter LOVES to sit and read this dictionary. It is clear and well illustrated. The book came ontime and well packaged. I would recommend it.

This book perfect for kids

I hesitated between this one and the one for older kids (from the same publisher). I should've ordered the older kids' version because although I preferred the bigger font and prettier graphics of the younger version, the difficulty level was very much lacking. Unfortunately, I didn't notice that when I "looked inside" the book. I received this book and put it to use immediately, and as quickly as we did, I realized there was no way this dictionary would take care of her needs. She's reading at a higher level so she needs definitions for harder words. This book isn't for a child like that. You won't find words like prehistoric. Instead, you'll find definitions for the word flower and such. I'm not sure why you need a dictionary for ages 5-8, to be honest, except just for the simple mechanics of it. So I ordered the dictionary I should've gotten in the first place, and it was exactly what she needed (Macmillan Dictionary for Children, ages 8-12).Please note, School Library Journal determines this book appropriate for grades 2-4. I think that's extremely inaccurate and one of the reasons I chose this book, was because of their review.

Cuenta con muchas ilustraciones haciendolo muy atractivo para los niños. Aparte cuenta con pasta dura y letra grande facilitandoles la lectura
