BEST DIY INSTRUCTIONS
First, of all, let me say, I received this product the very next day after order and payment - a good promise, kept. I decided on this system based on buyer comments and the fact that Apec is a U. S. manufacturer and not just a seller.I was a little unsure if I would be able to install something as complicated as this looks. I am a pretty intuitive and resourceful, non professional handyman around the house, so I will say you have to have some experience with moderately complex projects. But, in this case, I was replacing and old reverse osmosis (RO) system and I knew from the get-go I would have to be mindful that the instructions would be detailing an new install. The first thing I notice on looking at the instruction book is all the step-by step detail and diagrams. I typically read all instructions twice before beginning and this was no exceptions. And I am reassured by the fact that these people really know how to write so a person with even minimum experience can do this job. I carefully reviewed the instructions while looking at the configuration and fittings for the system I'm replacing. Once I decide on the minimal modifications needed for this install, I remove the old RO unit.Following diagrams and each assembly step I complete the connections and position the components for final installation. I re-check all fittings, cross my fingers and turn on the water to charge the system and viola!, it works beautifully. Wait 3 hours for the reservoir to fill, empty the tank to a trickle and then let it refill for 3 more hours.Best tasting water ever!!! No leaks, no problems. I am extremely satisfied with the product and the relative ease of installation. As this was a replacement, it took me about 4 hours to complete, not counting the tank fill and re-fill. I highly recommend this product for anyone with a moderate degree of competence.

My Head Exploded - It takes 3 gallons to make 1 purified gallon
I phoned tech support to ask why it was draining so long, and so frequently after dispensing purified water. I read the manual, and performed the routine of trouble shooting. It amounted to water pressure not being triggered at 40 psi to shut it off when full, however I have no way of calibrating my pressure without some degree of trouble. It works fine for the sprinklers, washer/dryer., and showering - all at the same time. Aside from that my greatest concern other than the continual draining of perfectly good water was the volume of water needed to make -1- purified gallon. I was told it took -3- gallons of drained off water to create -1- gallon of purified water. WHAT ?? I was in shock. So, do the math. To get -2- purified gallons per day, you will dispose of -42- gallons a week, 168 gallons/month. I'm no rocket scientist nor is this my industry. I do know it takes a lot of water to grow an almond. I'm a consumer ok.. But, when I was told this and did the math for water discharge and ratios 3:1 for this item I about fell off my stool. If I were regulating this industry or product with today's water shortage or anytime I would shut them down. I would rather use a 24hr drip system. I'm still in disbelief. I verified it multiple times with the tech and will gladly take this post down if it is untrue. (He didn't sound like a disgruntled employee) So, with this, my 250 dollar purifiers life comes to an end. I will not sacrifice 3 gallons of perfectly decent water to net 1 gallon of this water. Do the math if 100 people have this product - the numbers are mind boggling. Sorry, can't give it a thumbs up. If I could give it less stars i would.

Excellent Product and Water Quality
This is our second APEC RO system. I installed one in our previous house and was so happy with it, we bought one for this house too. I installed both of them myself using the included instructions, and the installs went well (probably took 1-2 hours each). I change all the filter elements once per year, and the water taste is excellent.

easy install
I replaced my old RO with this unit and found this unit to be an easy install. Received the unit with all the filters already assembled in placed. All I had to do was to follow the easy instructions and push in the color coded hoses to the filters! Super easy! As for the quality of the water.....great! Six months later, again following the instructions, I replaced stage 1 and stage 2 filter. No more messy, spilling water and looking for my filter canister wrench and struggling to loosen them. No more cleaning the canisters or replacing them! This RO has saved me time and money and given me great tasting water!

Great taste with compact design and reasonable pricing.
Amazon shipping was quick. The product arrived with no damage and all parts are accounted for inside the packages. I like the fact that all the filters are pre assembly and connected. I just have to read the instruction and connect the plastic water hoses to inlet/out let water connectors. The water tastes great. No more chlorine smell, old copper pipe smell, calcium deposit floating .... in the drinking water. I would give it a 4 stars and updating the review when I change the filter. If changing the filter is not too pricy and not cumbersome, I will give it a total of 5 stars.

Great Unit
This unit is great. Took my 560 TDS tap water and now I have 18 TDS RO water. The tastes is excellent. I couldn’t be happier. I tried a tankless by other top brand that only got my TDS down to 260, so this blows that WateDrop unit out of the water.

BUYER BEWARE!
Sold me a dented unit, dented pressurized tank...

Design Defects
We have an *-****** reverse osmosis system that I installed without any issues, and thought we would try the APEC at our second kitchen. Bad idea. APEC was more difficult to install due to the amount of small pipe parts that you have to piece together. After installation, the feed water adapter kept leaking at multiple locations, due to design flaws. Once we replaced it with the *-****** feed water adapter, the leaking was gone. Would not recommend APEC.
