SCOPING things out for less!
An affordable bore cam that delivers for much less! The cable (which is a good snug fit when connected and not loose), will be manipulated by hand to achieve your viewing need, and then some menu adjustments for screen direction, zoom, and taking pics/vid will take some button taps, but since I spent $100-PLUS less than pro equipment, Im ok with that as I use this for personal needs and not a business. Costlier cams have a bit more adjustments to ease operation and speed, but if time is not an issue this can work as a good tool for a pro also. The visual is very good for this price point. The adj. light helps as some pics are over bright saturated (as most cams do) when close to objects that reflect during movement, but again manipulating the cable is going to get your best shot. (Be sure to remove the protective film on the mirror if using it). Handy hard shell zippered case that fits just right and keeps the pkg small but protected. Came with a basic small gig mem chip which was nice to get you going. If you plan on lots of pics/vids, upgrade the mem so you will not be stuck in the field w/o storage. Charge battery before long session of use, as battery is internal. USB cable (incl) is used to charge. Simple uncomplicated usage, hence the small instructions that come with it. Only needed to read how to clear mem files. RH-Tx

Replacement Bore Scope Is Far Better But Has Issues
The seller responded to a bad review and negotiated the provision of an entirely different unit in an effort to make amends. The seller sent a unit that far outclasses the initial device. The new unit, a bore scope model WH7/WH8 in the photo, shows a much clearer and sharper image through a cellular telephone as it sends the image via WiFi. The scope is long and flexible and can get into impossibly tight spaces to send a very clear image of what is happening in that space. There are some shortcomings. The battery lasts only a few minutes before the unit shuts down even after an extended charge. The scope's camera head gets very hot as it illuminates and sends a picture of the space being photographed. There is no telling how long this device will last if the head overheats over time. Also, the device sends an SSID for connection to a cellular telephone's WiFi receiver and that connection is tricky to achieve. One must shut down the phone's WiFi and find the SSID of this device and launch an app downloaded from an app store to see a picture. The seller's agent was a person named Jennifer. She was very kind and patient in setting up the replacement. Though she continued contact me on and on, I had to keep assuring her I was on it, and I was testing the unit rather thoroughly. I would encourage the buyer to choose this new bore scope and not the prior one which was very bad. The new unit is not cheap junk, but the short duration battery and the overheating camera head on the probe do not inspire thoughts of long term reliability. In fact, the unit could fail prematurely given how hot that probe gets.

Great tool for multiple purposes
I got this to use around the house to see in small spaces, but also for a project of mine. I've been monitoring bird nests as part of the nest watch project and thought that this endoscope would let me see into nest boxes without opening the box. This has worked well, although I'm still working on my "aiming" ability. The picture quality is excellent and I can easily snap photos or take videos onto a small SD card. This has made nest monitoring a lot less intrusive (at least I hope so). I know this is kind of a specific thing, but I think it highlights ways this endoscope can be used for many different purposes. Here are more details about using it. The unit comes with a long, flexible tube that ends in a tiny camera surrounded by lights. I can manage the intensity of the light through a small, marked wheel on the side of the monitor box. The camera tube is connected to the monitoring base unit via a USB connector. I did find that once or twice, the USB connector wasn't plugged in all the way and the monitoring unit reported that it couldn't connect to the camera, but pushing the USB connector back into place solved that, so it's not a problem, just something I check now before I use the unit. Ilike the fact that I can dial down the intensity of the light so easily. The base unit is very simple to operate and shows clearly what is visible through the camera It comes with a small micro SD card and all I had to do was to plug in the unit to a USB charger to charge it up. I've used it several times without having to recharge. The photos I've taken have been clear, so it does exactly what I wanted it to do. I've even been able to use velcro straps and strap the camera to a long piece of bamboo to hold the camera head up to see what was in a nest about 15 feet up in a tree. This little camera and monitoring unit is one of the most useful things I've purchased in a long time. It works well, takes clear photos/videos, and is super easy. Basically, when I turn it on and get the camera positioned, all I have to do is press the little OK button to take photos as it defaults to take photos. If I want a video, I just use the right arrow to point to the video camera icon and press okay to start/stop. Very easy. And besides my pet project, I've found it useful to look behind heavy furniture or under things to find stuff like presence or absence of dog toys so I don't have to move something heavy only to find the toy was not there anyway. It's a great timesaver. And very good for looking behind walls to see if there is any water damage or problems with wiring. Great tool.

Cable is not stiff enough and lens gets cloudy with pipe inspection
This endoscope works ok. I needed something to inspect a 4" PVC sewer/drain line. First, the cable is not stiff enough to move through the pipe more than about 10 feet before it no longer wants to move and just bunches up. I had to tape it to a fish tape to get it any further into the pipe. Second, the lens got debris on it, and the picture became blurry. The pipe I was inspecting had not been used in days, so most all the debris had been cleared. There was a small amount of slime at the bottom of the pipe, and the lens got slime on it quickly, resulting in a cloudy picture. I think this endoscope may work just fine for other applications, but for inspecting a sewer/drain line for more than 5-10 feet or so, it is not up to the task. Without debris, the image is very good, so I gave it 3 stars.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT!
Piece of crap, never worked. Bought it and never opened the box. After a couple of years, I needed it. Didn't work. Just a blue screen. The leds turned on, but nothing on the screen. Their customer service suggested I open the device and rearrange the cables.... DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT! I'm including their unbelievable suggestion for self fix, as I couldn't believe my eyes: --------- Recommended Solution: Please carefully reverse the orientation of the ribbon cable connecting the camera to the mainboard inside the device, then reassemble and test it again. This simple adjustment often resolves the problem. --------- DON'T BUY OIIWAK'S PRODUCTS!! The quality sucks, and the customer service, instead of taking responsibility and sending a replacement, doesn't hesitate to send you self-service instructions that are more suitable for a skilled technician than for ordinary people.

Excellent customer service and a great product overall
The best thing about this device is the fact that you don’t need an additional app to use it. Everything is in the box. I ordered this at the beginning of December for a Christmas gift. Took it out of the box and it would only work if it was plugged in. Took out the plug and fiddled with it a bit and still nothing. Bummer! But I saw in a previous review from someone else that customer service was great. So I also contacted customer service. I was asked to send pictures and explain the problem. Within hours I was told that there was a new one on the way! I didn’t need to send the defective one back - only wait for the new device to come. It was due on Saturday but it was delivered today, which is Thursday. I pulled it out of the box and it worked right away AND was fully charged! Overall I have to say it was a very good experience. The device itself is great. The picture quality is good, but the manual adjustments are outstanding! I think it’s definitely worth every dime. Please note that this isn’t heavy duty, so be careful with it. However the cable for the endoscope itself is extremely thick and sturdy. Again, this was an overall excellent experience. Not everything is perfect every time, but having great support is priceless. Definitely worth the purchase!

Does the job okay.. But only for the right price
I've had this unit for almost two years now and have used it half a dozen times. Price has increased significantly since purchase so I definitely wouldn't get it again for this money. Here's my take: Pros * Decent picture and display. Clear enough for live viewing * Captures video at up to 1080p * Simple, well-packaged: accessories, memory card, good case, lengthy cable * Battery lasts long enough for most jobs * Zoom and rotate modes Cons * Saved pictures appear very lossy compared to live viewing or videos * No way to set the time and date. Files incorrectly timestamped * Firmware does not appear to be updatable This unit will suffice for most jobs and would acceptable if you get it at a decent price, otherwise I suspect there are better options out there
