Engaging and thought provoking
It was an excellent book that explores an unamed teenage girl's thoughts and feelings in one day. It's an engaging book that really captures the feeling of being a teenager. I reccomend this book if you like a thought provoking and slice of life book that makes you want to self reflect and I think if you are also a teen you will probably find this relatable.

I feel like I may need to reread this
I got into reading a lot earlier this year. Mostly I think because I wanted some supplementary texts. I've been studying Japanese and I want to gain a greater knowledge of the good and bad of their society and how to they things. Perception which is shaped through culture, which is shaped through language should maybe give an idea of why I decided to read this. The idea of stream of conscience writing was new to me so I thought that was interesting. The story follows a schoolgirl on an average day for her. She lives in the country so she wakes up early and hops on a train, then after school returns home. It has a very nihilistic perspective on things (well the girl does) I feel I need to reread this one. It's a decent novella. I know the writer, Osamu Dazai was very nihilistic and eventually committed suicide. I feel like this story may even be a vulnerable one for him. At times it's like you're seeing things from his point of view, not the school girls.

Best book ever.
Holy moly, this book is absolutely amazing. It’s smaller than I expected it’s only about 100 pages, it’s small but it’s absolutely amazing. It’s so deep and interesting I don’t want to spoil it just buy it. It’s the best book I think I’ve ever read, almost on the level of no longer human by him too.

Fantastic short work
One of my favorites. Short but sweet. This is one of those books you will want to read in one sitting. It’s captivating but the stream of consciousness narrative can be challenging to put down and pick back up the next day. I think about this book all the time

Great timeless story
This was a gift for my daughter. She loved the book, and said that the story was able to emotionally capture the feelings of teens.
