A great obvious choice for fans of Dane Maddock, National Treasure, Indiana Jones, and Navy Seals.
iberty by David Wood and Edward G. Talbot is a Dane and Bones Origins story that gives us another great adventure from Dane Maddock and Uriah "Bones" Bonebreak. This time they are thrust into adventure by old rivals and start on a journey of discovering secret deals that were made right before the signing of the Constitution. They also discover that there may be more than one group ready to take advantage of what they discover. The story begins with a trip back to 1787 where a small group of founding fathers meet secretly to debate a few issues that have risen with the Constitution. Debate follows and a deal is eventually struck that could alter the future of America forever. Benjamin Franklin and Edmund Randolph hide information of that meeting for future generations to find which remains that way until 1863 in Gettysburg, PA. Josiah Hawthorne travels with a document that could assist with the outcome of the Civil War. Disguised as a Confederate soldier, he sneaks into their camp to meet with General Robert E. Lee. After the meeting, Hawthorne is captured by the Union and the document goes missing along with him. When his companion, Bunyan, reports this information to his superior, he is told that there is another document and all is not lost.Present day, Dane and Bones are getting some R&R in Philadelphia when they realize that they are being followed. A chase through town begins their adventure and puts them on the spot of uncovering a secret that has been guarded since the signing of the Constitution. Dane and Bones begin putting together the pieces of the puzzle to discover who is after them when they realize that they are tangled in another web of the Sons of the Republic. As Dane and Bones begin to uncover the clues to locating the original Library of Congress, the hidden clues of Benjamin Franklin, and the final document that everyone is after, they find out just how fragile things were when the country was just coming together. They also find out that another group may be looking to do more with the information found than anyone could ever imagine. The Dane and Bones series has really become a favorite of mine and Liberty doesn't disappoint. The characters are great and I'm really enjoying Bones more and more. The story was fast paced and enjoyable, too. It's similar to Indiana Jones and National Treasure but it stands on its own with the special elements of both characters being Navy SEALs and getting along so well despite of, or because of, their differences in personalities. I have to admit that I haven't read the first book of the series (Freedom) yet and it seems that if I had it would help clear some things up, such as the Sons of the Republic and their main characters but this book can be read as a standalone. I would recommend picking up Freedom as well, which is what I'm doing next. This is a great addition to the Dan and Bones collection and I know you'll love it.

Liberty: A Dane and Bones Origins Story
If you love reading stories written by James Rollins, you will love reading this series. The story has a lot of history which is explained at the end of the book which parts are true and which is fiction. This is another great story with Dane and Bones tracking information about the constitution and the people who signed it. It also leads you on a hunt for more information that they wanted put in the original version. I won't give up the story or the ending which would ruin the book for you. I believe you will fall in love with this series as its one great story line that will lead to more in the future.

Longer please!
I really like these. The stories are so much fun. I hope they never end. Wish they were longer, though.

and Dane are doing their best to end up in the middle of a mystery
The books centers on the recovery of a document going back to the continental congress in regards to the country. Fast forward to today and two Navy Seals, Bones, and Dane are doing their best to end up in the middle of a mystery. The Sons of the Republic are involved and do their best to obtain the letter, while a mystery man posing as the brother to the documents owner intervenes on their behalf. Fast paced and entertaining it is a good afternoon read.

5 stars great adventure story
Awesome story I love Dane and Bones... they are hilarious and funny, brave, handsome, strong, etc. I love that Bones is an american Indian. There is a strong and loyal friendship between the two men and you feel as if this will never change. This book digs into how the American story came to be, along with some side trips by our forefathers. Lots of action, bad guys and tough love. A really good read, have read all the books in this series to date and looking forward to more..

You won't be disappointed
I was gifted a David Wood (Dane and Bones) novel a year ago and quickly became a HUGE fan. I find just the right balance of humor, adventure, excitement, and romance. The series are quick reads for me, which I enjoy and are never disappointing.

GREAT SERIES
I discovered the David Wood books by accident on Amazon and I have to admit they gave me a lot of fun while they lasted. Great characters and plenty of excitement en route to an improbable conclusion. But I always came back for more. Speaking of more, I'm waiting for more of the same. Great reading.

Secret societies and politics.... gotta' love it.
Another example of what a great author David Wood is. As he mixes historical fact with fiction the story leads the reader into a world where secret societies control much of what happens in the world. Once again Dane and Bones face what seems to be an impossible task, and one that will keep you wanting to read the whole book without putting it down.
