100% Satisfied! Just what I needed
I am one chapter in and it's already changed the way I think and given me hope. I absolutely love how this author/therapist writes and organizes her book. It's a fantastic workbook where you can interact immediately with the easy to understand content. I did a lot of research prior to purchasing a book on attachment the theory and this book kept coming up at the top of the recommended lists and I can totally see why. I usually don't write a review until I've read a book, but I can already tell based on just one chapter that this is the precisely what I needed. I am a super picky reader and as a teacher, I have very high standards when it comes to the organization of content at the end, how to present the content in easy to understand, applicable and relevant ways. Thus book exceeds my expectations!

Perfect for self or with client
Self care, self reflection or understanding attachments, this workbook does it all. It doesn’t have disorganized attachments, but that’s OK because it sets you up to do that work after understanding, anxious, and avoidant in general. If you’re looking for a good workbook to do for yourself or with a client, this is perfect.

Very Helpful for Anxious and Dismissive-Avoidant - NOT for Disorganized/Fearful-Avoidant
I had a therapist recommend me this workbook, and it was very helpful in helping me shift from an anxious to a secure attachment style. The book contains assessments, guidance, and exercises to work through - all of which were very helpful! My one major concern with this workbook though is that disorganized /fearful-avoidant attachment is not included. This is such a shame because those with a disorganized attachment style are often times overlooked due to the lower statistics, but they deserve equal support and care. Overall, I do recommend this book for those with a dismissing-avoidant or anxious attachment style - it was very helpful for me personally. Though, I do wish the authors could update the workbook to make it accessible to those with a disorganized attachment.

A Great Book for Understanding Yourself and Your Relationships
Attachment Theory is an easy to read book that helps you understand yourself and how your relationships work. It clearly explains the three attachment styles and how they shape both romantic and non-romantic connections. The Q&As make it feel personal, and the writing is simple and engaging. One of the biggest lessons I learned is that we can change our attachment styles once we truly understand them. The workbook provides a helpful guide for self-discovery, making it easier to build stronger relationships. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait to read Annie’s next one!

If you are an Anxious Attachment, do yourself a favour, just get the book
After learning about my anxious attachment style, I had sought to try and "fix" it. Amusingly the book tells you not to get too obsessed with it from the get go and recognises that anxious styles can sometimes get hyperfocused on fixing/solutionising things. This workbook made me understand more about myself and the hurt, stress and pain that I directly and indirectly cause to others. It's written in easy to understand concepts with exercises that get to the root of you, your feelings in those moments that trigger your attachment style. There is less of the medical, psychological jargon as compared to other attachment theory books. In essence, it is more grounded as it hits the nail on its head versus going a roundabout way of explaining your anxious attachment style and then leave you hanging - which ironically is self soothing to me versus leaving an open ended answer of a medical journal or study. It is written in a highly reassuring way which anxious attachment styles crave for and thus allowing one to be more open to recognising, accepting, healing and making that change for themselves and eventually for others too.

Sincere but incoherent
Needs urgent editorial intervention. The content is mainly there and one can certainly recognise the sincerity of the intentions. Some of the questions do make you think deeply. But the address changes continuously between the person with the insecure attachment and the person dealing with another's insecure attachment, giving a whiplash and leaving the reader utterly confused. Also such errors like I'm stressed when I am...~list of feelings~ one of which is... stressed! Most of the examples feel trite and stilted. Over-representation of woke agenda. If the book had been good, this wouldn't have rankled at all, but as it isn't, it feels like more effort has been expended on the representation rather than content coherence.
