The people complaining about it getting dull are either lazy or don't know how to sharpen it. Perhaps you should watch a video if you can't sharpen it. No pen mill stays sharp. Hell, no cutting edge stays sharp forever except those infomercial knives from back in the day. Apples to apples, I bet you could face blanks all day and go straight through a tomato with it. If it passes the ginsu test it's money. Seriously though, run a file across it when it gets dull. Walla, just like new in a minute or so. Mine keeps an edge just fine. No complaints.

This set has 4 drill/reamers to clear glue from pen tubes. The 4-blade trim bit does a good job of trimming wood on the barrel if you cut the wood a bit too long. I recommend you use it in a drill press as holding the barrel in your hand could cause injury.

Works but the drill bit is slightly bent…

I have used this mill set today and made five seam rippers for my sister. The tools work as advertised, and I had no issues. Good value and a necessary tool set for pens and small handle work.

Uhhh... forget to tighten it down! Accidentally forgot, was messing about with hunks of cherry off the tree in back. Uneven bits caught on the tool rest and bent the entire thing sideways Oops! That was user error and I'm grateful the thing bent and it didnt kill the motor on the ShopMate SO...having now purchased and used TWICE, you can turn pens on this. On a ShopMate. It's so fun! Just go for it! You'll have a blast. And you can use the mess you make for plant mulch!

Cuts horribly. Basically just smooths the wood. Doesn't remove material well at all. As poorly as it cuts you will think you're spinning the bit the wrong way. Wouldn't buy again or recommend to purchase.

They did work as described. however the set screw stripped out after a few changes. The tool was plenty sharp but the tolerance is not exact. I noticed it didn't cut the brass flush. This due to the tolerance of the cutter to the shaft. it was very slight but a little sanding is required otherwise the pen will have a slight gap when assembling. Im sure it is the cutter as I used the shaft on another cutter from Pen State after drilling and extracting the stripped set screw. But what can you expect for the price. The tolerance and the set screw was why I gave it 3 stars. If you buy this 1 don't use the Allen set screw or wrench that comes with it. Just go to hardware store and get a good set and a better set screw made of harder material and check the pen tube for a bur before assembly.
