It does it’s job well!
I had been wanting to explore different options for keeping my kick drum in place, and this thing is by far one of the best pieces of gear I’ve used so far. It feels very light but don’t let that trick you. It keeps the kick drum in place the whole time with no issues. I used it a a gig for the first time recently and it worked great. It does its job well. Highly recommended!

It WORKS!
I originally thought it would be about the same weight of a similarly sized 2x4 piece of wood but it feels surprisingly light. Despite its weight, when I try to take it home from church it’s a struggle to get it off the carpet.I use it for two different types of heavy hitting. At church, we have a classic, very light, flat base snare stand that moves from its proper location to my lap in 1/4 of a song. With the kick block wedged between the two legs facing me, the basket goes nowhere. I also play for a college pep band where we have to hit extremely hard just to be heard WITH the support of a medium sized sound system. When we’re in the stands I use ratchet straps to keep the bass drum from flying off the scaffolding we play on. When we traveled, I used the kick block and even our hardest kicker had no issues with kick drum creep. Here are some of my cons what in no way outweigh the pros. It’s fairly large and just barely fits in the water bottle pocket of my large backpack. Where this is a struggle is when there’s limited depth space for the drum kit, however that may be where the pedal block may be a better solution. I’m sure many people have been in the situation where the kick is at the edge or a riser and their seat is at the edge of the other end and there’s just absolutely no space for it in scenarios like that. It also doesn’t do anything about left to right movement but that can be solved with a better kick drum pedal with Velcro on the bottom. Another issue is that I wish it was taller since we have to lower the kick at pep band but as it is it’s, just the right height to be portable so I understand why it isn’t.Overall, it’s a great product and if I can actually get my hands on one, I’d really like to see if the pedal blocks would fit my needs better.

ACTUALLY WORKS FOR FAST DOUBLE KICK
I didn't see any reviews mentioning metal or double kick pedal, just country or rock gigs, so I decided to test it for the good of mankind. After a full week of recording machine gun kicks at high speed for my Prog metal band, I can happily say I'm VERY impressed. My 40 pound concrete block I used before doesn't come close to this tiny foam brick. Kick hasn't moved a CENTIMETER since the block. Applied to a large Roadrunner rug from Guitar Center. Happy custy, great product.

Never moves!
This is awesome for any drummer with a heavy bass foot! I have a set up on carpet and my kit would always walk away from me anytime I played a couple songs. I'm on the Praise and Worship team for my church, so the drums definitely get out to use. With that said now after the easy installation I have NEVER had another problem. With the high quality Velcro, there is absolutely no movement of my entire kit. Awesome product

simple idea, great solution
great grip to rug or carpet, holds kick drum in position very well. Low profile, inconspicuous.

Finally
I have been searching for a tool to prevent kick drum slide for some time. I've tried adjusting the legs on the kick drum and used another strap product which connects the kick drum to the drum throne. This latter tool was awkward to attach and did not prevent creeping kick drum. Our set is placed on low pile carpet so this KickBlock has been perfect. The device has stayed in place and so has the kick drum. I highly recommend this product.

Dead stop in it’s tracks
This works great with a rug. Set it and forget it.

Probably good but….
I am sure these work well but I was trying to get away from using a rug for space purposes. You still have to use a rug with these so that is probably my misperception. Not for me, but would probably work great for others.

a wonderful invention for drummers!
if you have a drum rug that has a loose fabric for this to latch on to it will keep your kick drum in place as well as a cinderblock in front of each leg. placing this in from of the kick rim is safe as the softness of the block keeps it from scarring the drum and the amount of velcro on the bottom locks it in place without issuenext up is to buy the smaller one to keep my hat stand in place from the left foot slamming it :)

Just what I needed!
These are sweet! They’re light and compact, and easy to throw in your cymbal bag. As long as you have a Velcro compatible rug (I got a cheap thin one at a hardware store) it solves all of your issues and your bass drum and hihats stay put. I highly recommend!

It Works!... on Drum Rugs
We are a recording studio and have several drummers come through. We have had to use sandbags on some drummers as the kick would move. This block is solid, looks nice, and replaces having to use the sandbags. One should note though you need a drum rug specifically (or a rug that works with velcro). We originally had a Persian Rug that was not velcro compatible and the block did nothing as it could not attach to the fibers.
