It cuts apples and doesn't look like it will fall to pieces some time soon (like others I have owned). I take sliced apples into work now instead of chocolate - if I lose weight it will get five stars.

Steel so probably a lot more robust than the plastic / metal ones. Time will tell.The blades are sharp so they cut well and it does "core" well. It does need a fair bit of downward pressure to cut through. Maybe "softer" varieties of apple would be easier?Three tips:Watch out for the small amount of apple juice which will squirt out upwards.Maybe cut off a bit of the apple base to remove the bit that was the original blossom.Save the pips to plant for more apple trees !

Very well built, slices without deforming and feeling like its about to break. Easy to wash in dishwasher without any damage to the cutter, so all good.

The grandchildren love the core-free easy-to-pick-up pieces of apple this produces. I also use it to core apples quickly when cooking with plums (both with skins on). You do have to be fairly strong to push it down over the apple and push it firmly. It needs to be on a surface, like a wooden board, so the apple won't slide away. It saves so much time and wastes very little apple.

My husband goes through apple cutters every couple of months. So I invested in this heavy duty bad boy! It’s got a good weight to it and very sharp blades which makes cutting apples really easy. I think it would go through potato too to make wedges, I’ve not tried that yet.
