Q: will these eat my live plants?

No, they thrive off of algae and will keep your plants algae free for the most part. Be carful! Even though these are submersible they will try to climb out. Unfortunately we found ours (after a year) on the floor next to the tank. I recommend a lid or low water level.

Q: Will these pom pom crabs live well in a Caridina shrimp tank with an aqua soil substrate?

Yes!! As long as you give them hiding places to molt they will be fine

Q: Are they compatible with Pea Puffers?

I wouldn't know my puffers expired within 24 hours

Q: If the product listing says "Material Wood" how is it a living crab?

These are darling little crabs. The sad part is that they are wild caught and, rarely live a year in captivity. They are wonderful additions but, not very adaptable to aquaria.
