Watts Water Technologies N36-M1 1/2" Water Service Vacuum Relief Valve

I am a pool/spa repair tech. Some of the builders in my area use these on pool/spa combo's to keep the raised spa from draining back down into the pool when the equipment turns off. Till now I had been cutting these out and replacing with a check valve when the vacuum breaker went bad. It was nice to find these. Also handy for replacing failed units on solar systems.

The product itself is fine. It was the original description that was the issue ... When i purchased it there was no description as to the size ( 1/2 inch vs 3/4 ... It was only after I purchased it that I discovered it was only 1/2 inch ! I had to go and buy a 3/4 to 1/2 adapter which was another expense The product was fine it was the listing ... ( but I believe that it was been since corrected )

Arrived as promised, it works as expected. No leaks and opens at a low pressure.

I bought this for my household water treatment system. I assume it works, but who knows. I wasn't about to build a test rig to try it. This valve is installed on a tank which I drain off 5-10 gallons of water monthly and have not had any issues.

It breaks down in three to four years. Their earlier products lasted fifteen years. There must be a reason for that.
