Do I need to get wax, what kind. Is the heddle hook included...** A: When I received my kit, all parts to assemble loom are included. It was easy to put together (says someone who enjoys assembling IKEA furniture). The wax is to smooth the wood as you put tight fitting pieces together. I did. It need it, though believe you could just use the side of a white candle if needed. Yes a hook is included as well as warping hooks. All you need is yarn and you can start weaving. **Q: What comes with the loom? Shuttles, hook etc.?** A: The loom, which must be assembled - but it's not hard - comes with a warping peg and 2 clamps, a threading hook, 2 shuttles, a number of cardboard warping sticks, and a reed or heddle. Also included is a very well-done booklet that clearly explains, and shows in color photos, how to direct warp the loom, then weave and finish a simple practice weaving. I did lightly sand it with the included sandpaper and waxed it before I put it together. Since then, I have waxed it again just because I wanted to add to the finish. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and the loom was no problem to assemble. It works just as advertised and I have already finished two scarves and have a third one on the loom. It sits easily between my lap and my coffee table, allowing me to weave in the living room. It is small enough to store easily but big enough to weave larger projects.
