Out'n About - A fun and friendly guide to Banff and Canmore

Writing this review on our last day in Banff. This guide was essential in helping us plan our hikes for a family of 6 — children ages 8-13. We loved the personal photos and the tidbits added by the authors which made us feel like we had a real “insiders” look for all of the many hiking options. Without this book, we would never have found some of our favorite spots. We have already tagged the hikes from the book that we want to explore the next time we visit.

A must for hiking in the Canmore area. Each trail we chose matched the book's description perfectly. The author's personal asides added to our enjoyment of hiking like a "local".

We used this book each of our eight days in the Banff area in May-June 2013. It made planning our outings easy and interesting. As the driver for our group, I found the directions to various sites easy to understand and right on. We took the book with us while hiking and found trails, landmarks and views just as described by the local author. The book has a helpful table of contents and is filled with beautiful pictures which assist in finding locations. I recommend the book to anyone interested in an easy-to-follow guide to the overwhelming number of attractions in the incredibly beautiful Banff-Canmore area.

This book is like having your own personal tour guide. It is full of interesting facts, doesn't overwhelm you with too much choice so that you can't make one and has lots of colourful, personal photographs which bring the various activities to life...yes, people actually do this stuff! It is easy to use and light enough to carry on the trips you take- who wants to hike Lady Mac with a tome on his back?! There is something for everyone in this book. Great guide.
