This motion-detector light works really well. A little over a year ago I installed two of them on the side of my house, around nine feet or so above the ground. I purposely waited a long time before posting this review, because I wanted to test them periodically, by walking under them at night. I'm happy to say they worked perfectly every time, in every type of weather, from hot and humid, to rainy, to freezing cold. (Just be sure to install the included rubber gaskets when screwing them to the wall--I almost forgot when I was standing on top of the ladder doing the installation.)They run on 4 D-size batteries, and I have not had to change the batteries yet. Since basically no one except my family walks on the side of the house where I put them, I fully expect the batteries to last for a few years.I plan to purchase at least one more, to place in another dark spot outside my house.Note that I installed them about nine feet off the ground. This is, as I recall, somewhat higher than the sensitivity range mentioned in the instructions. But I tested them before installation, by placing them on their side in a dark indoor hallway and noting how close I had to walk before they triggered on, and nine feet was easily within range. Furthermore, unless an intruder crawled along the ground, the intruder's head would be much closer than that to the motion light. So all of this gave me confidence that they would work fine, and they have.In summary, this is a great product. I've taught electronics labs at a university, so I'm always careful to check if electrical devices are built robustly, and these are. I definitely recommend them.

I put one of these outside by the cars, at the back of the house. As soon as I step off of the porch the lights come on. They are bright and adjustable. So I have one pointing to the front gate, and one to the cars. If there was anyone, or anything near the cars or drive the lights would come on and alert me to movement. The 4 D batteries lasted about a year, and the light comes on everyday several times. I just bought a second one for my basement stairs. When I get to the 4th step the lights automatically come on and light up everything. I saved a fortune not have to hire and electrician to repair the old lights.

Worked as described

Been a little busy this time of year. But, I need to write a review on this product. I bought 2 of them on 11/26/2019. Received them on 11/27. Thank you again Amazon. I installed them both right away. Easy installation. Had them both up in an hour. Cause I'm handy. I love these lights. The sensor will pick up around 26 feet away. Stays on for 15 seconds. Then goes off. I can set it for longer but since the battery power and I want them to go out this soon as possible they will stay on if I stand there or just move my arm to make them go on. I put one above a garage Elsa put wine on the porch because I had to a calendar the other day walking around the front of the house. I have security cameras but these did fit the bill for me I am going to order two more for the sides of the house. I just wanted to say that this company did really good with putting 4D batteries on them. Make sure you get the lithium d batteries from Amazon because they were last a lot longer providing how much they come on and off. I just want to give this product 6 stars so far I've only had them up for 8 hours. So far so good to me I will definitely promote these to my customers as well. I like these low profile LED security lights a lot. I definitely would recommend these

Just set up a Ring security system for the perimeter of our home. I used a Ring Doorbell 2 at the rear of the house looking towards the backyard/Wall. At a price of around $30 dollars this as been a very pleasant surprise and the brightness lights up our 20' x 30' rear patio. I couldve gone with another Ring camera to coordinate light & camera but I already have 2 Ring cameras with lights (not flood lights). This Security light works picks up movements from our next door neighbor's cat (a great rodent killer) and provides more illumination to a larger area than the ring camera spotlights. Good enough to where the Ring doorbell and this security light can coordinate when movement is detected (not all the time though as the sensitivity of the two devices is not the same. The Ring doorbell is better. If you look close enough you will see both devices. The mounting on the security light has different options. I chose the non-drilling method and that light is securely mounted on that beam! I will be purchasing a 2nd one for the lower level of our backyard and will mount it the same way over the BBQ patio beam. What a great purchase! My wife thinks I'm crazy but everytime that light goes off it's catching movement mostly Mr Lucky the next door cat! Would recommend without hesitation. I have another lamp like this one and it is really bright. I ordered this one for another place in my yard near the front of my storage room. It will make it easy for me to see the key to unlock the lock after dark. I have various lights around my house. When the heat is as bad as it is now, I work in my yard in the evening and sometimes until 10:00 p.m. It also provides additional light to deter anyone from coming into the yard. My neighbors like the light because it covers some of their yards, too. Motion detector works really well. Highly recommended.

I added this light to my mother’s stairweLL that has A 90 degree turn and poor light. I was able to have one LED shine on each section of the stairs which was wonderful. It worked great for a bit but the motion detection becomes hit and miss. Not sure if it’s used too much and it’s a battery issue but I’d say the light doesn’t catch motion about 20 percent of the time...not great if you are worried about an elderly lady on the stairs. But I know I’m using in an unconventional way. If the motion detection was a bit more reliable it would easily be a 4-5 star purchase.
