I'm a bassist just taking up guitar, so I couldn't stand light strings--they're too small, and I felt like I would break them by bending (and they just kept stretching and stretching, which drove me nuts because I didn't want to retune after every single bend even after hours of play time). Some of it, I'm sure is just me being a bassist used to having some actual string there to grab, but lights just flew out of my hand because they were too fine (and I'm a girl with tiny hands, so it's not like I have super big paws that would make it understandable). So I got mediums instead, knowing that I wanted steel rather than nickel from playing bass (for both tone and nickel-sensitivites). They're a lot better at holding their tuning, and once they've stretched properly, they keep it pretty well. Watch the G string in particular because it stretches the most. I'm biased because I'm a bassist, and when I first got a guitar, I felt like I was holding someone else's tiny, delicate toy, so if you don't have a lot of finger strength, you may want to go with light gauge instead. But for people with strong hands, mediums will be better. Now if only I could remember not to fret so hard...

It's been months and I have been playing daily! I should probably change them for the sake of maintaining the guitar. Length is generous. Smoothness? It has a slide noise when moving from fret to fret. I like it as it may be useful someday. The tuning holds fairly even after a couple of months of usage. I should also add that I clean my strings with ernie ball string wipes then dry them with a cloth. Weight is light. No issue with installing the strings. The pack provides different colored ends to make it easier on gauge placement. Definitely worth purchase. You also get a code to sign up for a program, Player's Circle, and you can redeem the points.

These were just what I was looking for - bright taut feeling strings with a lot of presence and a natural sound. You can feel and hear the difference right away. I think they sound best after a few hours of playing.

Strings are thick and full-sounding. Will purchase again when needed.

great quality strings, but SUPER STIFF! ill say this, if you drop tune to drop-c and want a tight string still, this is a good one to get. the brightness is insane! I personally love these for metalcore

I really enjoyed the strings they stay correct intonation through the entirety of the sustain of the string.

SWEET!.....I used to play with lights but these are better suited to the way I play...

If you're looking for wimpy strings with dull, lifeless sound - look elsewhere. These strings are bright and powerful. I've played LOTS of strings over my 20 years of playing and these have more power than anything I've ever played. Hands-down my favorite strings ever.

Does what it says on the can at a good price

Love Daddario strings in general. These are fairly bright which pairs well with my gretsch and AC15. Good price and good quality. Also nice that you can collect points and redeem free Daddario items. "Tea for Two" recommends Daddario strings
