I purchased this nozzle/tap kit for an anniversary party I was throwing for my parents. It was a really cool way to serve sangria and people were impressed. On top of that, the watermelon itself is a good insulator so the drink stays cool for a long time.The nozzle itself is plastic but very well built. I've used it 3 times so far and it has worked perfectly each time. The core tool makes it so simple to put the perfect size hole in the watermelon for the faucet. It probably took about 10 minutes to set the whole thing up, with most of that time being spent on emptying the watermelon. When installed, there wasn't any dripping or mess and clean up was a breeze.Some helpful tips:1) Make sure you put the nozzle high enough on the watermelon so that if there are extra watermelon bits floating around, they don't clog the nozzle. Usually about 2 inches from the floor of the watermelon is fine.2) You can make this ahead of time. My test watermelon lasted 3 days in the fridge and had no leaking or rotting.3) A large watermelon usually holds about 2 - 3 quarts in my experience or the equivalent of a two bottle recipe of sangria.

We used the tap on a pumpkin full of Octoberfest beer, it worked perfectly. Easy to install, no leaks at all. It lasted through the party, then being carried around a parade without an issue. Love it!

The media could not be loaded.  I am satisfied with the product itself. The reason why I didn’t give 5 stars is because of the setup effort. It leaks if the fitting is not perfect. It takes time and skill to make it perfectly mounted in a watermelon. It works good though.

I saw this product and thought, ‘wow! cool idea! It would be a visual hit seeing a tap on a watermelon and a bigger party hit if it actually worked.’ I’m glad to report- it was a hit! The plastic is very sturdy and well made. The hole punch- to make a hole in the watermelon to put the tap- was functional, you have to slowly work your way thru the skin, but it made a clean hole. We had no leaking at all. There is a clear gasket that has to be on the inside before you put the nut on, and I’d bet some people don’t realize that should be on the inside. If it wasn’t, it may leak. So after drinking the spiked juice and taking the tap off the watermelon- remember to grab that gasket. I thought this might be a one time use, but it cleaned up great and I’m looking forward to another tapped melon!

I was really excited trying this out on a pumpkin. I did it for a Halloween bachelorette party and it was pretty freaking awesome. But it leaked around the middle section so I was a little disappointed that it was leaking. It had to do with the manufacturing. But, either than that it was still pretty freaking awesomeness.
