Good introduction to psychological interpretation of Tarot
This book is Book 1 of a trilogy on the Jungian Tarot. You will really need to read all 3 books to get an understanding of the Jungian Tarot and the psychological aspects of Tarot. In addition, if you don't have any knowledge of Kabbalah and/or Astrology, you will probably need additional help to understand the Jungian Tarot, especially with regard to the pip cards. Getting to this book, on its own, I believe that it is a very good introduction to how Tarot can be studied, based on psychological principles. I had no real understanding of psychology, other than my Introduction to Psychology course in college, and no real knowledge of the the theories of Carl Jung, other than from other books on Tarot. However, this book gave me a great start to understanding some of Jung's theories, and how they relate to the study of Tarot. Each card of the Jungian Tarot Deck was covered, with a brief statement as to how each card relates to psychological theories. It was easier to relate the text to the illustrations on the Major Arcana and Court cards, than it was for the pip cards, because the pip cards are not illustrated like the others. In my opinion, it would have been a good idea for Wang to set forth some guide as to how to interpret the illustrations of the pip cards. That is why I gave this book 4 stars. However, I believe that Wang did this on purpose, so you would use your own imagination in interpreting the various cards. Wang sugggests that you spend a good amount of time in meditating on each card. Unfortunately, some of us cannot spend the time with each card, as he suggests.

Lackluster (and please don't associate this book with Jung)
Wang offers a few minor insights when writing about the cards of the Major Arcana, but in the Minor Arcana, his work is absolutely uninspired. Look at the Knave of Chalices, which has strong symbolism in the Marseilles Tarot and in the Smith-Waite cards: in this deck it is "The Ambitious Daughter." We see a picture which has almost no symbolism at all, and at no point does Wang explain why this card departs from deeper traditions or how it blazes its own path. Instead, the commentary reads like a third-rate knock-off of something you can get in your local paper Astrology section. I'll let Wang explain it to you: "Here is a very practical and ambitious young woman with natural executive skills for business. She is extremely calculating and shrewd, but is sensitive to the feelings of people around her and easily earns the friendship and respect of business colleagues. Keen insight into her own behavior and into that of others makes her a remarkably good manager of employees or of those subordinate to her in any situation." The rest of the single paragraph goes on like this for a few more sentences. I cannot believe that this book will satisfy people who are fascinated by the Tarot or who love reading Jung.

A little better, but not much.
If you want to know the meaning behind the pictures in the deck, this is the book but it does at best a mediocre job at best. Such a shame that such a great deck has such lousy books to it.

Excellent Book!
As a life long student of the tarot I would rate this product as top notch and I would recommend it to any of my students. I received the book in a very timely manner as was promised. The book was brand new. I am really excited about reading this work more in depth. I would definitely order from this seller again. Thanks for listening.

Very negative
I spent 48 euro to buy an insignificant book very small and very light. It is incredible that the author is the same that wrote Jungian tarot and Archetypal Imaginery.
