Horse Diaries #7: Risky Chance

My 5 year old reads above average and asked me to purchase these books she currently on book 9 after receiving them the beginning of December.She loves to read and she reads everything, Its problem borrowing books from the library she always wants to keep them, I find myself purchasing books every few weeks.The stories are wonderful and she enjoys all the characters, the setting of the story and the images.She just enjoy the series I purchased the frist book during the summer and she asked me to purchase the series for the holiday when shes off from schoolThank you Horse Diaries

Purchased for granddaughter who loves horses. She loved this series and learned a lot about the different breeds of horses. She now has her own horse and competes with him in gymkanas and jumping horse shows.

I loved this book I think it would be great for 3rd to any other grades or ages so in other words I recommend this book to anyone.

Risky Chance is the story about a thoroughbred who has his heart set on racing, and winning. Finally he gets a chance to prove himself worthy of the track. At Santa Anita he races with a jockey named Wolf, but it wasn't that way for long. Wolf gets an injury and cannot race, so Chance needs a new jockey. The jocky works him too hard and Chance loses the thing he lives most. Racing. I found this story heartbreaking yet joyful as well. I always enjoy Chance's humor while reading this book.🐎🐎🐎

My daughter loves this horse series and cannot seem to get enough. They're beautifully written and she loves the history and settings.

I have this book five stars, because I really loved reading it. It made you want to keep on reading to see what was going to happen next. It had it's up and downs in the book. I would recommend this book to any horse lover.

My daughter loves this series of books! She is crazy about horses and particularly likes the fact that these books are told from the horse's perspective! It is sometimes very difficult getting kids to read - I have found books that utilize animals as characters are very engaging for young readers. My daughter also loves that each book has a different author because she feels it gives the reader more variety with the characters especially since each story is told by a horse. Happy reading!

I have purchased this book as a continuation of the series for my niece who 1. loves horses (whis is what prompted me to purchase them in the first place) and 2. loves to read. Although she is past the age group for the series now, she still want to continue with them. If it has to do with horses she loves it!

Excellent book. I read it with my 10 year old daughter and this one was one of her favorites. Of course she loves horses.
