On the Road to Mr. Mineo's

sweet story
My son picked this book as his favorite read in 4th grade. It's a sweet story full of character and suspense, set in a long-ago when kids were highly unsupervised and roaming southern dirt roads bored to imagine something greater than the reality around them. Some editing could have been applied ('jamming fists into hips' overly used) but the language flows from page to page and the reveal at the end worth it. We ended up gifting this book to several of my son's friends and they loved it just as much and he did.

AR approved - Awesome Story
My 6th grader needed a book for a book report. This is an AR book. He loved this book, read it in 2 days and was able to ,with excitement, give me the entire storyline! We are passing the book along to classmates to borrow.

On the road to mr. Mineo's
It was the cutest story! I got this for my granddaughter who is beginning to read. The story is delightful with enough repetition to aid children as they practice their reading skills

Magical!
A one-legged pigeon. Scabby-kneed, germ-infested boys. A girl who loves dogs. Summertime fun. This magical story proves that adventure is waiting for you around every corner, but only if you are looking for it.
