Great guide to knowing your Street Fighters
The media could not be loaded. As a fan of Street Fighter games and art, I really enjoyed going through this book learning about all the characters. There are lots of interesting information on each character, such as their origins, allies, enemies, fighting styles, things they like or dislike, and the games they appear in.In terms of the level of depth, it's not as detailed as what you'll get from wikia pages of course. Each character in the book is presented with a one page profile and a full-page illustration on the other. The beautiful artworks would be one of the main highlights for the book. It's also more convenient to have all the characters compiled neatly (alphabetically) in one book.In addition to the main fighting characters, the side characters are also included, but with only face cuts and shorter profiles. Nevertheless, it's still quite interesting to see how inter-related the relationships are between the different characters in the Street Fighter universe.Recommended to Street Fighter fans.(See more pictures of the book on my blog. Just visit my Amazon profile for the link.)

The Book of streetfighters
This book is a must have for all you die hard fans. It gives you stats and the back stories to almost every street fighter in the universe today. This book does not have any of the fighters from the EX series, but does have all of the new fighters in street fighter 4 and super street fighter 4. Its not a massive book so its easy to port around. For your kid they could take it to school or for adults slip it into your briefcase on the way to work and sneak in a few pages. All in all a great addition to anyones library.

Just make your own encyclopedia froma wikia
Save your money and buy the softcover. I was hoping for a true updated version including a variety of info....sadly the only new entriesare for Oni. Decapre, Poison, and Evil Ryu, updates to the minor character section, some new artwork, Traditional 2D Sprite Images for all fighters, and a world map where all the fighters come from. All other artwork is enlarged and text is the same. I was extremely disappointed.... seriously you couldn't give additional write-ups for the Street Fighter I characters of Lee, Retsu, and Joe? Not even some artwork with Alt costumes....not to mention include ancillary information from the SF RPG game from White Wolf. Also there is the issue of excluding all of the Streetfighter EX characters. Just make your own PDF from Streetfighter Wiki... for a true encyclopedia.

SF WW Encyclopedia
Excellent book with great back story for each character. Illustrations are great. Is well worth it's price. Only minor banter is that they did'nt have a street fighter character for the letter P, so it is not exactly 100% an encyclopedia with all the characters for each letter of the alphabet. Therefore I can't explain to my 3 year old son that there is no street fighter character starting with the letter P. Ordering a second one for myself as the first one I have decided to give to my three year old son who obsessively carries it around with him everywhere he goes, even to bed.

I can honestly say the artwork is beautiful and I did enjoy reading some of the character ...
I bought this for a friend who is a much bigger SF fan than I and he adores it. I can honestly say the artwork is beautiful and I did enjoy reading some of the character descriptions. If you're thinking about getting I then I say take the plunge. Its not very expensive and it looks great on bookshelves.

Nice one
Amazing. This enciclopedia is even better than the first one. Has a nice touch with the 2D sprite for every character in this book. It is up to date to USFIV. I think Udon will make a new version since now we have SFV. I thing that they could do it better with some images like Balrog and Sagat but iy is just my point of view.

The ultimate SF resource for fans!
Excellent resource for SF fans. It has all SF characters to this date with detailed character bios, their relationships with other members of the cast, and nice artwork. Artwork and information is updated from the previous version and is more visually appealing. No EX characters included, only characters from the official titles are included. All NPCs are also represented. I hope they continue to update it as we get new SF games.

Amazing encyclopedia for any Street Fighter fan
Amazing encyclopedia for any Street Fighter fan.The artwork is amazing and it provides in depth info about each characters backstory.Would be amazing if it included production notes about the characters' development. There are some pretty interesting stories out there as to how most of the characters were designed.

Fantastic resource for any fighting-game fan!
This has been a long time coming (perhaps attributed to Udon's own work on the HD remake of Super Street Fighter II and Capcom's own update of Street Fighter IV, adding characters and updating the stats of several Street Fighter III characters), but the finished product is so very worth it.What you have is a complete guide to every single character, major and minor, well-developed or secretive, in the entire Street Fighter mythos. Combining facts from Capcom itself and Udon's impressive work in their comics based around the franchise, Udon has created a comprehensive profile for all the fighters that have featured across the series, from Ryu to newer characters such as Twelve or Juri. All have well-written profiles that sum up their roles in the games so far (these are relatively minimal for characters from series Udon haven't touched yet - So Juri, Hakan and a number of the Street Fighter III characters have the basic facts of their involvement in the games and tournaments), and all of the profiles are generally bereft of spelling mistakes and grammar issues - which is impressive, when then 'Powers' encyclopedia, developed by Marvel Comics and surrounding the Bendis/Oeming series, was filled with them. Each character also has a page of art devoted to them, on the opposite page to their information and biography. In some instances, this art is brand new - characters like Makoto have had Udon artists Doe, Jeffrey Cruz and Gonzalo Ordonez put together fantastic new pieces of art for them.Because of the brand new art, the biographical information that is potentially difficult to find in a western form (a lot of the info here is taken from Japanese Street Fighter reference books), and the sheer delight in finding the workmanship that has gone into this, I highly recommend it for anyone remotely interested in Street Fighter, fighting games, or comics in general. As a final note, I'm note sure the product details up above correctly detail the size of the book - This is, for those having not seen it in a store, digest sized. It should match up well with the other volumes of the Street Fighter series that Udon has published, and is even marked with Volume 0 - Suggesting that either more volumes are coming, or this is meant to be put in front of the Round 1: Fight! volume that kicks off the Udon comics.Again, I can't recommend this enough - And at this price, it's a bargain.

Another great addition to your collection
First class delivery Amazon as this arrived today in pristine condition. This book is a great addition to any Street Fighter collector and although some of the artwork has been reused from previous editions it's a nicely packaged collection. Just a shame Capcom don't revisit some of the special move combinations in these books
