ColumbiaWomen's Kaleidaslope ii Jacket

This is an outstanding jacket! I live in Buffalo, NY where it starts getting cold in October. This jacket is lightweight but warm and very well made. Has a soft, fleecy area inside neckline. Extended sleeves with hand warmers/thumb holes (tho they are not detachable you can choose not to use them and just tuck them inside the sleeve. The jacket is also water and wind resistant. The best feature of this jacket hands down is the thermo tech lining which is this silvery, heat-radiation fabric that radiates your own body heat back to you. I read so many reviews before purchasing this and many who purchased this come from climates like mine. So I will be able to wear this jacket in early fall thru early winter; perhaps the entire winter. When it gets between 10-20 degrees I may need to wear a different jacket or just layer underneath this one more. I ordered two colors in this-the black and the bluegrass. I need to make note that the 'bluegrass' color is not as blue as the picture; more of an emerald green (not turquoise which has more blue in it), but that was what I had wanted. This color is stunning! Fabric is not shiny but has an attractive lite sheen to it. Also, I ordered these in two sizes-a Small and a Medium since I read many reviews and some said this fits true to size and some said slightly small. My measurements lined up with the size small (I am a size 4, 34B bustline and 26.5 inch waist and tiny hips) . However, this item is built to be tailored fit and for one light layer underneath. So I tried each of the sizes on with a midweight sweater since that is what I would be wearing most of the time. The size medium actually fit better and looked better. It gave me more mobility and freedom of movement in the arms and back and still looked semi fitted and not bulky or sloppy. I walk a lot at the park and the mobility factor is necessary. Their is hardly a difference between the size S and M so I would say depending on what you plan on wearing most of the time underneath the jacket is how you should order your size. I haven't had a chance to use in cold weather yet but I know its going to be toasty warm! This is one jacket that has all the right details and at a fantastic price. Great alternative to those puffer jackets that make you look huge in them but just as warm as down. I am very happy with this purchase.

Omg I can't even express how surprised I was with this coat. I read glowing reviews in advance of ordering, but when it arrived I was not at all convinced this could withstand a cold Nebraska winter. It's so lightweight and feels like a spring jacket. But letmetellya....I've not had a cold day yet; even in single digit weather. I think this coat is perfect for everyday use. Warm enough for casual wear, not at all bulky nor too hot when wearing it inside for a bit (like in a store). Blows my mind. I'd love to get another color! Extra bonus... The sleeves actually are long enough for my long arms so the wonderful thumb holes actually fit and are great for keeping out extra breeze. My only complaint is that I had to order a size larger just to accommodate my larger bust so the rest of the coat is a bit bigger that best fit would otherwise be (woes of the large chested woman). Buy this!

Love the “fur look” collar as a contrast.

I have been searching for a casual winter jacket and this is it! The price was so reasonable compared to other websites selling this jacket. It arrived earlier than expected and in perfect condition. It is a little larger than I expected, as others said it ran small. I wear a 12-14 and ordered a XL, I could have gone with the large but the extra room will be great for a sweater under it, although I doubt I will need it. It was very warm and comfortable. I recommend this product!

I love this jacket. I have it in a size large and i I ordered it in an xl hoping it would layer well over lighter fleece. I’m returning because it is a bit big. I will only order large from now on . The large keeps me warm especially when on walks with my dogs. It’s not great for layering over bulky pieces because it’s a fitted coat . I’m 155 lbs and 5’ 8”. Hope this helps.

She absolutely loves this coat. It is very very warm but light at the same time. The fit is nice on my wife. Sort of contured. If you'r lady has a larger bust the coat actually fits nicely. It's not overly tight in that area. We have had it for 2 or so years. No tears or loose threads. Seems like good construction and materials.

At this point in my life I am my own furnace (thanks to menopause) and my old coat is just to heavy. I needed a coat that wouldn't take me from freezing to overheating in 15 seconds or less and this coat seems to fit that bill nicely. I ordered the XL based on the size chart and it fits perfectly. Very happy with the sleeve length, I usually have to deal with sleeves that are a bit shorter than I would like. Also love the extra fabric with the thumb openings at the end of the sleeve. No more wind blasting up my arms! I usually order coats with hoods as I don't like hats but for this coat I will make an exception. It looks good on and the neck (when zipped up) is actually tall enough to cover my chin. I'm so glad I decided to order this coat. *After I posted this I looked at the coat listing and discovered it has doubled in price. I paid a little over $50 for mine.

My granddaughter usually wears a size XL and this one did not fit well. I returned the jacket, but it was not available in the size and color she wanted on Amazon. I checked the sizing chart at the Columbia website and a 1X was only a fraction of an inch bigger than the XL. I ended up ordering a 2X directly from Columbia's website for $4 more than it was shown on Amazon.
