Product Motivated Me to Write Only My 2nd Review Ever - Very Satisfied!
It's rare that a product can authentically make your life better (I work in marketing so I'm used to making brand promises). But I can tell you getting this Blackstone griddle has really enhanced my life. It's motivated me to cook at home more (thus eating out less), try new recipes and generally just have more fun cooking. Here are the key things that have made me feel very satisfied using this product:* Keeps cooking heat outdoors - I used to grill 2-3x/month with our old grill. But since you can cook so many more things using a griddle top, we use it a ton more. A huge benefit (especially in summer months) is that it doesn't heat up the kitchen like oven or range cooking does.* Easy to clean - I have 2 young children, balance 2 demanding careers, and also want to eat well. In our balance of household duties I do the dishes and generally handle kitchen cleanup. Now that the griddle is well-seasoned, clean-up literally takes me less than 5 minutes. I scrape excess food off, wipe it down, and when it cools, cover it. THAT'S IT! The time saved just from faster cleaning has been worth it.* Encourages experimentation - As videos and blog posts on the Blackstone site have referenced, cooking on a griddle is very forgiving. It's hard to mess things up and such a huge cooking surface gives you lots of room and flexibility to move things around to keep from overcooking. That's led me to throw stuff on I'd never had considered before - stir-fried rice, brussel sprouts, broccoli, cabbage. And I've only owned it a few months!* Can involve children in cooking more - Since the griddle sits outside and I'm less worried about messes, it's given me opportunities to involve my 5yo daughter in cooking. Don't get me wrong, this thing gets hot and children should never be left unsupervised around it. But it's helped me be more casual about messes and involve my kids in food prep in ways I hadn't before.I could go on - the price is good, customer service has good reputation, lots of recipe ideas to be found online, expands well when cooking for large groups - as I said before, my good experiences with this product motivated me to write only my 2nd review. It's that good. :-)

Love it!
Wow wow wow. I freaking ADORE this thing! My husband and I have both wanted a good griddle indoors, this is the next best thing. And it's seriously huge. I wanted it partially to take to our family reunion. He took it on a scouting trip and was able to cook all the food the entire trip in a fraction of the time those smaller camp stoves work. We plan on cooking massive amounts of pancakes on it for a 4th of July breakfast in a couple of weeks.Seasoning the surface is simple and there are instructions provided in the included manual as well. This gets very hot, very fast. I love that there are 4 heating elements that are the depth of the cooking surface. You can create different temperature zones to keep some food warning while you cook the rest. There aren't any very noticible hot spots either, which is something that has always frustrated me with griddles that sit on top of burners. Clean up is simple. I use a squeeze bottle with plain water in it to loosen up and stuck on particles. then scrape off what's needed. Rub with a bit of oil to protect your seasoning and let cool. The men at Scout camp had serious griddle envy. The only problem is a common one, the regulator that's included is a serious piece of junk. We used it several times before we ran into a problem, the company was prompt in sending us a replacement, but I wonder if the quality on that one will be any better and plan on ordering a different one just in case. The removable shelves are very light weight, but are still functionable. I would recommend a sturdy table if you have anything very heavy you need to set down. My husband also used some thin sheets of metal and make a wind break for the section between the griddle and the base where the high winds around here can cut the effectiveness of the heat down. I would also like to make a carry bag for it. there is a bag you can buy for the griddle, but not for the base . We are both very very pleased with it, especially for the price. It's a bit spendy, but we'll worth it when your far from the comforts of home.
