If you own a Tesla Model 3, you have probably noticed that most phone cases will not fit in the charging dock of the premium center console. Skyline has developed a product that completely replaces the original trim cover, allowing you to charge your device without having to remove your case! It works by increasing the cable protrusion height, as well as providing additional space for thicker cases.

I'm really only writing this review because the only other review was two stars because he bought a big freakin' phone that doesn't fit and it isn't Skyline's fault. I'm really just trying to balance out the rating. I do like the product though I haven't purchase it yet (my reason for not buying is in the second half of this review). I have a Jeda wireless charging pad and was recommended this product because Jeda v1 doesn't hold the phone down when you slam your foot on the accelerator (Come on, it's a Tesla, we all do it). This results in the phone sliding off the pad and into the storage space below. I'm told this Skyline Dock Adapter will solve this problem.HOWEVER... My one serious issue with this product is the price and it's the reason I haven't purchased it. $40 (on sale from $50 MSRP) is a lot of money for a piece of plastic that clips to the tray. It doesn't come with longer cables or anything that I can see would increase the price above $10. If the R&D and manufacturing processes Skyline has done for this product means they can only make a profit at $40 per unit, then this company needs some new management. I'm mostly expecting that it only cost them maybe $5 on the high end (including the R&D) and they figure they can gouge their customers because it's for a fancy, flashy, expensive electric car. At $10 I would snatch this up. I'd buy it right now. Most of their prices for their other products are super high. Skyline sells a three part clip for Model S/X for $98. THAT'S INSANE! I can get the NEW Jeda wireless pad for my Model 3 for exactly the same price and it has some real mechanical engineering going on AND COMES WITH NEW CABLES.Skyline.. Come on man.. I'm trying to give you guys a nice review and buy your product but you're pricing yourself out of the market. I fear it's because you sell products strictly for Tesla cars and think people will pay $100 for some plastic bits because the car was $90k. The two star review was unfair but honestly, I would have bought the product and surely given you five stars had this been reasonably priced.

Doesn't work with large phones (eg Samsung Note 9)
The product may be good for certain phones with certain cases, but it definitely is not useable with the Note 9 or similarly sized phones. By extending the male connector on the cable forward (which this device does) you lose some room and the phone no longer fits, so it is unusable with larger phones. If there were a way to adjust the length of the male connector then perhaps it could work. Maybe v2 will provide that option, but until then they should state which phones it works with and which ones it doesn't. Nice idea though.

Thanks!
Great product! Definitely superior to Tesla's design. Now if I could just remember to grab my phone before walking away from the car haha...

Much better than their first version
I had their first version, bought from them and it was ok, however it broke after a few months. I contacted them and they replaced it at no cost (under warranty maybe?). This one looks MUCH better, and it appears to be much sturdier and I doubt that the tabs that hold it in place will break easily. There are 3 phones that get placed in my dock regularly, but I also have a wireless charging pad, so the left dock has no cable in place, and the right side has a Lightning cable. The spacing allows the phone to sit lower with the charging pad than it can with the Tesla cover, so it works well.Samsung Galaxy Note 8 - good as I need it to be - used on the left with no cable. The extra height means that the phone lines up with the charging coils in the wireless pad, and it has a lip to keep it from sliding down. With the stock Tesla cover and the wireless pad, the phone is not placed where the wireless coils will work and it slides into the tray underneath.iPhone 6 Plus & 7 Plus - both of these slide onto the Lightning cable with no problem and charge. There isn't much extra space above when trying to get it connected or disconnected, but there is just enough. It works with the difference cases my wife & daughter have, so this works well.I've only had it for a few days, but so far I'm happier with this than the previous, and as of now I would have no problem recommending the product to someone else.
