Humax HDR-1100S 2TB Freesat with Freetime HD TV Recorder - Black

It looks brand new picture Quality excellent service perfect arrived on time it took me3 days to pop all the bubbles thank you.

Comunication between my Galaxy tab S7FE. Model Name SM-T733 and the Humax HDR-1100S was fine but not complete. I can only set recordings using the Humax remote control. I think that this is down to the settings in the Freesat app on the tablet.

The 5 stars is for Richard at Chigwell Satellite who runs a responsive & excellent Amazon marketplace. He actually fulfils his warranty & service commitments for his refurbished products. Given the focus on streaming, bit of background as to why Humax and why Freesat. Currently Freesat offers far more TV channels and far better user guide than Freeview. Sadly Humax no longer makes these freesat boxes despite their excellent interface and user-ability which made it easy to do alot. Since my earlier Foxsat HDR continues to run/record extremely well but had only a small recorder memory (500mB) & no wifi, I got a refurbished Humax HDR-1100S 2TB which also had a much smaller box footprint. Call me old fashioned but not all TV channels stream; many stream-only now cost alot; & HDR recordings allow skipping through the ads (!) unlike ads in streaming(!!) First 2 failed but Richard stood by ensuring a working box. So far it's been 16 months & working well. Hence 3.5 stars for a less reliable product (but 5 when working).

When I connected the mains plug to the Humax box, there is no response at all. It appears to be a fault in the humax box or the converter from mains to DC. Should I send the complete piece of kit back of all you send me a new converter.

I ordered this box as a replacement when my existing one went faulty. I had a letter from Richard of the company explaining that my Humax box probably wasn’t faulty at all as they had discovered from Humax (after having a huge and unusual rise in orders) that it was a glitch across all Humax boxes for a couple of days. I rang the telephone number in the letter and spoke to a very nice gentleman (It may have been Richard I didn’t catch his name) who explained fully what had happened and facilitated a refund to my account immediately. The money was back in my account 2 days later. Excellent service, no problems and nothing too much trouble. When my existing box does die I will definitely be ordering from Chigwell Satellite.

I would like to add that this is the second time I have bought from this seller and there was without doubt a problem with the first order however I returned it and received immediate refund. I was disappointed as feedback had been very positive. Seller did contact me after by email but my circumstances at that time were difficult for me to reply. Seller was very apologetic and offered further assistance as a consequence I decided to give the seller another opportunity and purchased another item and I am delighted as I have had no problems whatsoever and am very pleased with this purchase. Beware this does not come with the apps as advertised.No itv playerNo NetflixNo channel 4 catch upAlso it does not plug and play as stated on the box. If you are switching from sky you need an engineer to adjust the LnB on your dish . This cost us an extra £165I contacted the seller who said due to licensing those apps attention availableHowever.. they're allowed to advertise them as available on the product on the website and box And instruction leaflet. Doesn't make any sense.£500 for a box that's lacking and not as advertised.

Arrived next day and is working well. Happy with purchase.
