Disappointed
I was very disappointed with this book. With a plain, straightforward title, I had hoped the writing style would be the same. But it seems the author's goal was to shed light on Tibetan sources that dealt with karma, rather than to shed light on karma itself.I often felt he was explaining about mandalas that symbolize karma, rather than explaining karma.Karma is a complex topic. I don't feel I understand it any better after having wrestled with this book.

Great, clear, concise and very important explanations without the needless "holy" and "exotic" peppering that often comes with publications on the subject of eastern philosophy and spiritual development.Good foundation for actually realizing the meaning of what's being talked about.

Profound and difficult to read
Karma is a fundamental idea on Buddhism and this text is very profound in it.Some passages are difficult to understand. But in general is a good book.

Das Buch beschreibt die 12 Nidanas klar und bezieht sich dabei stimmig auf Nagarjunas Treatise of the Middle Way. Ich habe einen deutlicheren Bezug auf alltägliches Leben und halbwegs aktuelle gesellschaftliche (oder religiöse) Fragestellungen vermisst. Daher fand ich das Buch gelehrt, aber etwas langweilig.Die Kindle Edition ist insofern schlecht aufbereitet, als man durch Klicken auf die (hilfreichen) Fußnoten nicht dorthin springen kann.

In keinem anderen Buch das ich kenne wird dieses Thema so klar und leicht verständlich behandelt und ist dennoch fundiert. Es ist sowohl für Neueinsteiger als auch schon länger Praktizierende geeignet.Der Bezug zu Nagarjunas Buch gibt eine weitere Dimension.
