Q: I'm not understanding what the Black Vinyl Chess Board is. Is it cardboard with vinyl on it, or a piece of vinyl you play on?

Its a roll up vinyl that stinks HORRIBLY! We have had ours out for 5 days and the toxic, plastic smell is STILL extremely awful! I mean it will knock you out and make you lose all chess games! Can't believe they would make it out of something that smells so awful! It is really really bad! Sent ours back and getting one with no vinyl board.

Hi there. Glass to answer, because I was thrilled with this purchase. The pieces are solid and have good weight. My board was black and white. I’m not sure if you can choose the color or not when you make the purchase. I can’t remember. What I can remember is that I was AMAZED that I got such value for my dollar. Internet shopping is so “hit or miss.” It’s a great set. You’ll be pleased.
