Kelli Dunham, RN, BSN is a nurse, a comedian, and author of three other books: How to Survive and Maybe Even Love Nursing School, How to Survive and Maybe Even Love Your Life as a Nurse, and The Boy’s Body Book: Everything You Need to Know for Growing Up You. Review: Great book! Straight-forward, no drama, no politics or agenda. - This book has lots of information, and it's much more than just a "puberty" book. In fact, that's only about 32 of the 150 pages. Other topics include general personal care (pimples, dental care, BO, etc), healthy eating, exercise, being safe online and in real life, developing good study habits, dealing with stress, drug use, and so on. I am completely baffled by some reviewers who complained that this book was full of "left wing ideologies". That is patently false, and they are intentionally misleading you. I don't think they actually read the book. I suspect they noticed the author is non-binary and are review-bombing. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I've got the book open in front of me and I cannot find any mention of gender identity or sexual orientation. Are they upset about a book for girls that talks about consent and boundaries? I just can't find much of anything in this book that seems to have an ideological agenda. Review: Good info for little girls - This book is nice to have around with little girls. Informative but not too deep. She can flip through and ask questions

Extremely Informational
This book is loaded with great information on a young person's body and the many changes and challenges they face going through puberty. I ordered it for my 10 year old daughter. We read a little every night. The book is well written for all kids to understand. I love how the author supports empathy and self love through educating our little ones as they navigate the next journey. I was impressed with massive amount of topics that were covered in this book. I highly recommend this book.

For the single father's out there. I would give 10 stars if possible
For the male prospective. I know you just wish you can get a plunger and push those boobs back in but that would be child abuse and we're going to move away from that. The new world of female development into a raging ball of hormones and genitalia and breast development... Ohh God help me.... This book may have saved my life.... If you see blood one day from your daughter bottom, don't rush her to the emergency room. You might have to look around and find the first woman for this kind of help. You single dads, are you equipped with the right needs. If you do not have a woman you can trust to talk to her (cousin girlfriend some sort of relative) then continue reading... First step, have a nice adult beverage of your choice. Next up look at your little girl and know that she's never going to be the same. Next step read the book... In combination with adult beverage. Take breaks as needed. Now that your armed with the tools to talk to your daughter. Don’t shy away from it. You need to do it or she will get her information from the Internet or friends. It's a time of great uncertainty and confusion. She will probably be insecure about how she looks and the changes. Be commutative and available to talk. She's going to need a lock on her room. Let her know that, she is growing from a lovely girl into a beautiful young lady. Hearing that from you is essential. She’s going to feel awkward having this conversation with anyone, let alone you.. After some talks, you can give her the book. Now this is going to hurt... Your daughter is going to date and do things... This is where you need to think of boyfriend deterrence.... Think about the scene in the "50 cent scares boyfriend - Den of Thieves" movie. You can find it on YouTube. And good luck!

Great book for young girls to read with their moms
Love this book for young girls. It's all the things you need to know for growing up. My only criticism is they talk a lot about cell phone use and I don’t think it’s age-appropriate.

Great information with no sex mentioned!
I researched so many books about puberty for my 9 year old. I wanted boobs, periods, hair, sweat and absolutely nothing about sex. There is just no need to know that at this age. It was proving very difficult! A friend recommended this and its great! It is American so I have had to explain odd words for my daughter but I really like it. The section on the gynaecologist(weird!) we just missed out. Great stuff on emotions, friendships and cyber safety too. Have now bought the boy version and put it away til my son is ready. Would definately recommend.
